Back in December, I had a colonoscopy. Now, since you are 'out' for this, it doesn't really matter WHAT they do - because you aren't there for it. They found two little 'polyps' and removed them. But there is a hairpin turn in my colon at the far end. And, just like many hairpin turns on the Dragon, you can't see around it. SO, the last 6-8 inches of my colon were not visible.
So, how they handle that is they do a "Virtual Colonoscopy". You prep just like the real one, only this time, they leave you awake, give you an air enema (to dilate the colon) and scan you with the CT machine.
My advice:
If they say, "Don't get a colonoscopy, they run a big hose up in you and it's awful, gross and dangerous...", do it. Having that hose-thingy up in you ain't nothing, not when the doc knocks you out cold as MJ! They do so many of these nowadays, I don't see much of a risk.
More of my advice:
If they say, "Get a virtual colonoscopy, they scan you with a CT scanner and don't run a hose up your bum..." RUN FOR THE HILLS!
