The Year of the LORD's Favor

Isaiah 61:7-11

For your shame, you shall have double,

For dishonor has confusion;

Rejoice for the part of trouble,

Perfect joy in the conclusion.

The eternal joy you shall see,

In the land that you shall possess;

Love the justice from God shall be;

Experience when you confess.

The Lord hates stealing, which is wrong,

He will faithfully amend;

Eternal covenant as strong,

Everlastingly to defend.

Their offspring amongst the nations,

Their descendants of the people;

Acknowledge through generations,

God will bless them in the temple.

I greatly rejoice in the Lord,

My soul shall be joyful in God;

As He shall be loved and adored,

While giving honor and laud.

He has clothed me with salvation,

And covered me with righteousness;

Crown jewels of a new creation,

The Lord’s favor with blessedness.

For the earth bringing forth its spouts,

The garden causes what is sown;

And in the autumn as it shouts,

In harvesting all that has grown.

The Lord God will cause righteousness,

Praise to spring forth before the nations;

That will be reaping joyousness,

And causing peaceful relations.

The Voice We Can Trust

Proverbs 2:9-15

You will understand righteousness,

Justice, fairness, and each good path;

Be alert to your consciousness,

Straight and narrow avoids wrath.

Wisdom will come into your heart,

Knowledge be pleasant to your soul;

And together they will impart,

Guiding your conscience to control.

Discretion will watch over you,

As understanding is guarding;

Situations to help you through,

In the end, it is rewarding.

Delivering you from evil,

From men having perverted speech;

Avoid the path of the devil,

From those in the darkness outreach.

Who leaves the path of uprightness,

To walk in the way of the dark;

Will be forsaking their righteousness,

Where the wickedness would embark.

Who rejoices in doing ill,

Delighting in perverseness;

It is like the wicked that kill,

In defiant audaciousness.

Most people have a crooked path,

And are devious in their ways;

God assures they will feel His wrath,

Because each of them disobeys.
