Today is Happy St. John's day in Italy.
They are celebrating John the Baptist.
They celebrate with fireworks, bonfires, church services, and processions.
If your name is John, and you are a baptist, then today is your day.
Happy St. John's day!!!

If any are available, we will send you a picture of Jethro Bodine, Rollo Tamasi, and Ralph shaking the hand of one of the popes (I forget which one) ( AND ALL WITH SIGNATURES).

In Brazil they all take little statues of St John to the river to give them a bath in the river in a huge procession.

I always wanted to see it...heard about it but never got to see it.

You know I originally thought that you created this topic and I was going to tell you that the words saint and John don't even belong in the same sentence so I don't know what you're on about. :lol

That's a bit different. I never heard of statue dunking before.

Neither had I... until I was there with some missionaries and they were explaining it to me. They said it was weird but interesting and fun.

I'm going to the water soon to dunk a fishing line. Severe weather warning and thunderstorms, the rain is currently hammering down, but the tide and current is good.

I took the day off work because of the severe weather but I can still go fishing. Lol.

A bad day fishing is still better than a good day working.

I don't have a rain jacket so I have to try quickly catch and set a live bait under a ballon before I get too wet, then I can sit in the car and listen to music and just watch the Ballon, as soon as it goes under I know I got a fish, then I get completely soaked, but I will have a fish so it's worth it.

There are some big winter amberjacks around, not easy to get or in large numbers, but they are huge, not like the smaller summer ones I usually get. I will probably get spooled if I hook up because I dont have much line on my reel, but it's heavy line so I will just have to lock it up max drag and try stop it, and the reel has broken bearings so it might just seize why trying to land, and its got no bailarm anymore, but i don't really need that. I have had that reel for a few years now and never washed it so that's why it's stuffed, but it's still a runner, I still trust it.

Lol. Anyhow it's worth a go.

I got a couple of pictures of my Grandfather still in his tie from going to church who "just wanted to wet a line" in the river on the way home with a big ol bass or some other kind of fish.

I understand your thinking completely.
