Just wondering if any one here met their soul mate here. I know that there are wonderful Christian men and women on this site.

There are some who believe that the Internet is the perfect haven for deception. Do you think that meeting and becoming involved the old time way is better than meeting online?

.
Good morning Sister Abide. Just reading of your population nearing 300,000 on an island of a 166 sq miles, it might be unsafe bringing in even one more person; the island might tip over.

I used to be on a forum where one of the ladies found a wonderful husband on the internet, and they had been together a number of years by the time I knew her, but there lies a danger in the truth being withheld in many cases of internet unions. There are more than a surplus of con men out there. We have direction to seek someone being equally yoked and to me that means more than merely being Christian in name only. I think it takes time around them to ascertain their true lifestyle and spirituality. I'll certainly pray for you if you're interested in marrying again. God bless you in Jesus' name.

Thanks for your reply Eugene. I would love to be married again... I have made friends over the Internet. I met two men from Barbados on the Internet too, but I am ano eager to marry someone through this means. There are hidden dangers and even at times when we see people face to face in church we can still find ourselves being tricked. I will wait on God's timing. There are too many wolves in sheep's clothing. My ex was "Christian" and I thought I knew him well. Hope you have a good week.

Without question or doubt. You never see and know the whole person from simply sharing on line.

The fundamental problem I see is that online relationships (of all kinds, not just romantic) attract those who seek anonymity because, well, they're weird. They need the protection of the internet to gain access to the people they can't gain access to in real life because of their weirdness. Speaking in general, of course. :lol

It's all about character, according to the fruit of the Spirit--and character under pressure (everyone is patient when there's no reason to be impatient,etc.). Going to church, tithing, etc. mean NOTHING.

The internet chat forums are full of introverts...
All of your I personalities from the Meyers Brigg profiles.

That being said I met my wife online (not this forum).
But before I met her I met a lot of other women that aged mysteriously 10-20 years and gained 50 + pounds and in one instance a hump in her back.
Many of them deep into debt and looking for someone to pay their bills.

I did meet some wonderful people as well. Dated some of them. Some I left alone.

Crazy looks like sanity but fun on forums.

I'm thinking this discussion should be in a different forum. It isn't addressing the staff regarding site issues so maybe the Lounge?
