Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I am just wanting to express my indignation at my lack of prayer for the people whom asked to be prayed for around me. So to counter this terrible apathy and lack of prayer towards others, i want to post some of the prayer requests up here. I am simply asking that you help me pray for the people around me and therefore hopefully i will lose that sense of forgetfullness and apathy to pray. First in my art class I have serval people who have family and friends that need to be saved. My friend Lydia in class has a friend who has sleeping difficulties i think who questions if Christianity is the only way to truth. I have several people who have different events going on in thier lives (good and bad) to be dealt with. A situation with a baby to be born or it is born but not well-not sure. My friend Deric to be saved (hes a very big hedonistic gothic person). I pray that me and other peoples sinful habits be dealt with and forgiven. In PTRW class i pray for some of the peoples friends or relatives who have died or are not doing well. There was a girl who went to my college who got killed at a traffic stop recently. People who have died at my school. for my PTRW paper due. Other than class i also pray for the Christian chruch to stand faithful, Obama and other gov't leaders to do right, my friends on the interent some of whom may not be saved (from online games), my cousin Lauren to stop practising questionable behavior (by God's standards) shes a Christian. My cousins friends to be saved also. Generally for the world to get saved, and the continuing sanctification among Christians. Also for the plane crash recently. I might update this list periodically, hopefully it will stimulate my prayer life not only that but also the results that God will show. James 5:16 mentions how great is the prayer of the Christian people, "The intense prayer of the righteous is very powerful." Also Gods presence is mentioned to present in intense prayer among believers via Matthew 18:19-20 "Again, I assure you : If two of you on earth agree about any matter that you pray for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there among them."

Also pray that I will not forget to pray or slack at it. I almost forgot to mention that.

Don't beat yourself up ChristFollower3, I am happy to know that you care so much about intercession. A thought toward God is a prayer, and when we deliberately put others into those thoughts, we begin to develop God's heart toward people. It makes us feel the urgency of prayer, but our human nature can make us feel overly, personally responsible - in other words, cultivate guilt. Guilt is not of God. If you're like me, and you deeply care about other people's needs, you have to watch that! Sometimes you just have to step back, be still, and know that He is God. As a pastor told me many years ago, when I was worrying so much over people, "GOD will build His Kingdom." It's so great to partner with the Lord in prayer, but don't forget Who runs the universe! :)

I realize that i can't pray for everyone, it was just that i was trying to spread around the prayer requests, thats all. I dont feel guilty for it or anything. Just trying to improve my prayer life. Thanks for the reminder thou hehe. I believe all truth needs to be repeated, so we can understand it better like you said God is in control hehe.

Christfollower, I will pray that God answer your prayer. I need to be reminded to pray more too. The Lord bless you.

You are so right, and what a lovely improvement you are working on in your Christian life. I know my prayer life can be improved, thanks for the encouragement. Will pray that we all will improve our prayer life.
