Jason, I had to replace the PCM on my 2006 Trailblazer, so now I am getting ready to go through the Pass Lock stage, I will let you know how it turns out. And if it does start I have to run the truck to make it relearn the truck and my driving habits, boy this is fun.:eek2:grumpy:shrug:cries:angry3:wall:shame:missyou

with obd2 it learns enough in passing of two cycles. cycles for that is something I have to look up. I know when I cleared my rangers memory it took five minutes of driving to get it back to normal.

Replaced the PCM Jason, and it still won't start, I know that that the ignition switch was going bad and that could have everything to do with it. Now when I try to do it the theft deterent indicator is not flashing on the cluster. Because when it does after it goes out after 10 minutes you turn the switch to start for 1 to 3 seconds and let it go bact on for 10 minutes and repeat this 3 times. And then in the off postion for 30 seconds and then in the on for 30 seconds and then try to start it. and it is not starting, now I have known since the winter that the ignition switch was going bad, Now last month I could not figure out what was wrong with it and the auto shop charged me 259 bucks and 20 cents for a diagnostic test. And they said that I needed a PCM, so I found a reputable company on e bay that flashes the PCM to your VIN. And I don't think that I did the right waiting periods with the minutes until you go to the next. So the paper says disconnect the negative which me and you already know to reset the computer for 20 minutes. But now the theft indicator is not flashing in the cluster like the first time that I did it. I am going to buy a ignition switch tomorrow. And see what happens, right now I am so mad you could fry a egg on me.

did you see if you have power to the computer ? I would do that first to rule out a simple bad pcm sold to you.

It is power to it because the check engine light comes on for a second, when you you try to start or just turn the key to on.

that is a bulb check, I don't know if the computer does that or its from the relay or ign switch without a wiring diagram. a pcm might have two or more sources of power. one for sensors and one for itself. I have seen that.

Wrong Jason there is no power to the PCM, now when I put it in the shop, it would try to turn over but just couldn't now the PCM is getting no power, and I paid this shop 259 they have to tell me something man, boy am I hot.

ok so there is or was no power to the pcm? did you check the fuse and relay to the pcm?

I want to check those but a relative has my tester and he is in Nevada until next week. But if I remember right a bad ignition switch can cause this also. Last year I put in the inner ignition switch now I am talking about the key ignition switch.

hot wire it and see, ie run a simple toggle switch to the right places as a test and see. you can use a test light up to the pcm to see if it is getting power. and also to the relay.

Yup, will let you know tomorrow my brother, I still think that i should replace that switch because I know that it was going bad. What do you think ?

I would test the circuit first unless you know by cleaning it first that it is bad. there are cleaners for that.

Yeah I know that there are cleaners for that.

Jason I am going to work on it again tomorrow I do not feel like today. I will let you.

Jason I see on my OBDII scanner a code 315, that is a crank position relearn faliure. And as you and I know a car will not start if the crank position sensor is not right. But the PCM is still not getting power and I wonder if the crank position sensor has something to do with it. I am going into territory that I have no experience with, except for a bad crank position sensor. But I don't have experience with a failed relearn crank position sensor. And the check engine light not coming on after start is also a worry, it could be a relay a ground or whatever I might have to put it in the shop to the tune of 518 bucks to 700 if the ignition switch is also playing a part in this. These new electronic cars are a trip to deal with. Before them I was good at fixing them, I am very angry over this because I need my wheels to do everything.

ok, you CAN ground the ecm to the battery with a jumper wire, and if you are talking to it, it must have POWER.

a good read. some of that I remember from tech school.
