I just finished talking with my best friend from California. A good friend of ours from High School, Karin Nash, was killed by a (alleged) drunk driver last week). She was 45. Apparently the driver drifted across several lanes of traffic, into the oncoming lanes and hit Karin's car head-on. Although no charges have yet been brought, the police are awaiting lab results for the blood alcolhol level in the driver.
Karin leaves behind 3 sons. Her eldest is handicapped and will live with Karin's brother. The younger two are currently in foster care and hopefully can be adopted by family friends.
I know that life was not always easy for Karin, but she did love her son's and her son's testified to the love she had for the Lord, and her witness to them regarding the Lord. Karin also cared for her 90 year old grandmother.
From what Kathy said regarding the memorial service, the family is taking comfort in the Lord regarding this senseless tragedy. Please pray that the boys will be able to be put into homes where they can be loved and cared for.
