Hallo all.

Dont know if any of you has ever suffered anxiety and panic attacks, I've been suffering from them long enough with lots of prayer and still no deliverance, I believe there is a way out of this apart from the medication I'm taking, anyone advice on a quick fix method? :[/quote]

Are you perhaps assuming that medication is not part of God's plan for delivering you from these attacks.

If there was a "quick fix" out there I'd shy away from it. Getting hold of your emotions isn't a quick fix kind of deal.

I'd reccomend, when ever youfeel an attack coming on that you think about what is triggering it. More often than not there is an underlying problem that needs to be dealt with. Now, I am ALL FOR medications to help things. But the core problem needs to be fixed instead of treating symptoms.

Anxiety is a daily battle for me as well Katsa.

First off realize that you are not alone. Even though some of the greatest prophets in the Bible seem fearless and larger then life, this isn't alwasy the case.

Look at Elijah. Here is a man who was depressed and discouraged so he ran and hid in a cave. He even said, "Lord, I am the only one left." If that doesn't sound like someone who is alone and sad, I'm not sure what would qualify. Again, you are not alone.

I find that for me personally, my anxiety/depression is worst when I am very focused on me...when I am tuned into "The Mike Show" and don't take my eyes off of it. It's not until I force my eyes off of myself and onto the cross that I find the rest.

I know this may sound "crazy" but my greatest moments of levity recently are when I have the opportunity to share the Gospel with someone. When I have the opportunity to talk scripture, to read scripture, that is where I find peace. In Him.

So I encourage you katsa to do just that. Read the bible, go to a christian book store and pick up some literature. Immerse yourself in the word. Continue to pray.

Feel free to PM or email me anytime and i'll do whatever I can to help further.

Is it not possible the problem could be entirely "physical" and that there is no "core problem" other than not enough of brain chemical X or too much of brain chemical Y?

It this is the case, then the solution is to use medical technology to get the correct balance.

Of course, I know nothing about Katsa's case nor about this issue in general. However, I believe I am correct in asserting that improper brain chemistry be the cause of a wide number of psychological problems.
