How Heaven & Earth passed away

I didn't bother reading the whole article. I did read one thing I agree with though.

Yea right! If this is the New heaven and earth we got ripped off!

You don't have to look any further than this forum to see that the peace that was promised isn't here on this earth. Also, if Jesus is currently reigning from the New Jerusalem, can you tell me where it is?

And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, on them there will be no rain. If the family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they shall have no rain; they shall receive the plague with which the LORD strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.(Zech. 14:16-19 KJV)

From about 700 AD, when the first settlers came to Iceland, until the late 20th century, no Icelander wen to the Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem. Yet, during all that time, there was rain. The only plagues during that time were the same ones that affected the rest of Europe, such as the black death and the Spanish flu.

And If we are currently being punished for not going to the Feast of Tabernacles, why are so many Christians against keeping this and other Biblical festivals.

Sorry, the current world doesn't fit what Scripture describes.

The Pharisees & Jewish leaders were expecting a material kingdom. But how many times did Jesus say the kingdom was spiritual?

The Lord reigns from heaven.

Everything was fulfilled in Christ, including the feast of tabernacles. And is seen figuratively described in Revelation. In actuality, those that didn't come up to worship, get no rain. The water of life is needed indeed for a harvest. The harvest in the Bible prophecy was at the end of the age. Only the faithful remnant of the Hebrews were blessed. In New Jerusalem there is no more curse.
The "Tabernacle of God" is with men today. For all that would come.

Christ fulfilled the law. The 12 tribes are noted in the New Jerusalem - where righteousness dwells.

Who has peace? The ones in Christ. The world will always have tribulation.
But overcomers have peace bc they do Christ's command to overcome in this life.

I do hope many on the www will read my links too!

No curse in Jerusalem? When did you last watch the news? Peace for Christians? Tell that to the relatives of those who have been killed for trying to bring the Good News to Arab countries.

Sorry, I'm not willing to do the mental gymnastics that are required to believe what you are saying. I'd rather read what God's Word actually says and use the brain God gave me and have hope for the future. With your way, we have to throw out all logical thinking and we have no hope. This is the best it's going to get. Wars, inflation, crime corruption - is this really what God promised us in His kingdom?

Well, you can't confuse the spiritual "new Jerusalem"(which is above) with the Jerusalem we see today (& Paul said was in bondage with her children)

Jerusalem was "raised up" at the end of the age. (Zech.14:10)

I'll be back, as I have to play taxi for a couple more months now. (I certainly have my reasons for that!)

While I rarely agree with the particulars of Lehigh3's interpretations, the spirit of them is correct. The real question is; what are you looking for in an interpretation?

Mat 7:7 ¶ Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Mat 7:8 - For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

So perhaps one should seek an interpretation that glorifies God. The standard then becomes; what glorifies God?
