In the bible we read that Jesus walked from place to place through the desert. We also read that when He got to the city He went immediately to the temple to speak and teach about God. Why then do we as Chrstians put certian standards on the people who walk into the church we go to. Do people not realize that Jesus was homeless? He was what would be considered a vagabond.
He did the work of God wearing tattered clothes that He had slept on the ground in. He never would have turned away a pregnant young girl. Or told someone to leave because they weren't wearing the right clothes. I believe that it is inhuman to turn people away who are seeking God. In the bible it was Jesus who said if anyone turned someone away from God they were better off tying a large around their neck and throwing themselves into the lake. When I invite someone to church the response I get the most often is that they don't have the right clothes. I think we are doing them an injustice by encouraging them to feel they don't belong simply they wouldn't "fit in".
It is church not high school.
