How to be regenerated?

I understand that salvation is the solo work of God. I've been listening to a lot of sermons by Paul Washer, John Piper and understand it is not a work of the flesh and I believe God is relieving this to me. So am I to just wait till God regenerates me or what? Their are a couple of reasons why I don't believe I'm saved and one of them is because I believe I wouldn't live in a lifestyle of sin and that I would have power over my sin. I also believe I truly don't believe in Christ every time I say I trust in Christ I have doubts in my head.

So I guess I really don't trust my self. I see in the scriptures that Christ invites us to come to him but I also see that some will be ever seeing but never perceiving ever hearing but never understanding. I also have no true heart felt guilt when I sin. It's more of a worldly sorrow than a godly sorrow. What do I do and can you guys pray for me I WANT TO BE SAVED AND DONE WITH MY SIN BUT I'M STUMBLING OVER CHRIST. I PRAY THAT I MAY BECOME A FOOL SO GOD WILL REVEAL THESE THINGS TO ME. (sorry for caps but that part had to be stressed).

Before even thinking about regeneration, first, you must believe in Christ. Christ will not force you nor act upon you if you don't invite Him into you. It is true that regeneration is a work of God and not the work of flesh. However, for God to regenerate you into a new creation, you must believe in Him truly by inviting Him into your heart.

So, what is meant by inviting Him into your heart? It means, you no longer rule your heart but He does and His kingdom is in side you because He rules over you. So, every decision you make must be acceptable by Him.

Having said this, it does not mean there is an invisible hand stopping you from sinning. It means, He will help you and give you the strength to overcome and guide you but not force you. Which means, whenever you sin, you will have a guilty conscience which is from God, however, you can still sin with all your might. It is like a king of a nation ruling and yet you can still commit a crime. However, just as the king punishes the criminal, our Lord chastens his loved ones.

All these are an on going process of regeneration. So, begin with, you must truly believe in him - I say this because of what you said "I also believe I truly don't believe in Christ every time I say I trust in Christ I have doubts in my head"

Jesus Christ came to save and divide mankind from our sins.

He didn't say we wouldn't have any after we come to Him.

There is a reason to take up our own cross. And there is likewise workings in the opposite direction.

Therein lies the tensions.

enjoy!

A man has no more ability to be born again as he did to be born the first time !

A man has no more ability to be born again as he did to be born the first time !

Once again on your High horse. Just listen to what the man is writing. He is seeking to know God and that alone sets him on collision course with God almighty who as we all have declared over and over again is the only one who can redeem us.

Its funny how though works can not bring us to salvation God touches hearts until they soften to such a point that they hear the voice of God. Did they do this no of course not yet every conversion testimony I have heard contains the declaration of what God did to draw them to Him.

I am sure even your own testimony would include that but it seems you are ashamed to declare it because you must know it goes against what you have stated.

Be a hero share your testimony for us all to see the power of God in your life.

Regeneration is used Twice in scripture and its a Noun ! Man cannot and does not have the ability to be regenerated ! Its a Place first of all !

Oops there goes God saying we must be born again but that might be regeneration so that cannot possibly be correct.

Everyone Christ died for and rose again in Him is in the Regeneration, for they follow Him there. Matt 19:28

28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Now when does Christ sit on the Throne of His Glory ?

Its now, right after His Death and Resurrection He entered into His Glory ! It was foretold here Lk 24:25-26:44-46

25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:

26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?

44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

Acts 2:30-35

30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

Yes, Christ has now entered into His Glory and sits now on His Throne of Glory, and so does everyone who was raised up together with Him as Per Eph 2:5-6

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)

6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

So all who were risen up together in Him are in the Regeneration, He is the place of Regeneration, His Glory !

And everyone who was risen above with Him shall be born from above, the New Birth is from above !

Col 3:1

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

God's word tells us that we are in a spiritual war and that our flesh riles against God's spirit. While we are alive we will constantly be struggling against sin which seeks to capture us with our fleshly desires. So how do we overcome our fleshly desires? Actually we don't we replace them. When we begin to dwell and meditate on the good things of God they begin to dominate our thoughts and over time they create new thought patterns in our life and the desires for the other stuff fade away. Think of it like a pathway through the woods as we continually walk it the pathway is easily found but when we take another pathway the old one begins to get overgrown and not easily found (if we hunt for it still can be found) this is how the transformation of our soul happens.

So what do we do with the times we fail and turn back to the old pathways? When we come to our senses we stop, acknowledge what we have done, ask Jesus' forgiveness, ask him to cover the sin with His blood and return to the new pathways we have established. You see the blood covers our sin but the cross breaks the power of it and each day we must take up the cross so that we might become like Jesus.
