I Have A Question, About Judges

Lewis

Member
What do you make of judges that says he is a Christian, but will still uphold abortion, and the same goes for the Jewish judges. Now if something is against God, we are supposed to reject it. And that would go for the judges too.
Now the Word of God says.

Romans 13:4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Now they are supposed to be ministers of God, and to bring wrath on evil people. But by up holding abortion, they are doing evil themselves.
So this is a classic case od double standards. What do you all think ?

yeh double standards. The only thing I can think of that they COULD be doing is that perhaps they don't want to take away people's free will. But I don't think they need to worry about that because I really don't believe that they could.

But anyway - yes I think it's double standard :)

HOW'S THIS FOR AMAZING TIMING???

Today's Scripture

Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind.

Romans 14:4,5 NASB

Weekly Meditation

A matter of the heart

Jesus said, "Are you being willfully stupid? Don't you see that what you swallow can't contaminate you? It doesn't enter your heart but your stomach, works its way through the intestines, and is finally flushed." (That took care of dietary quibbling; Jesus was saying that all foods are fit to eat.)

He went on: "It's what comes out of a person that pollutes: obscenities, lusts, thefts, murders, adulteries, greed, depravity, deceptive dealings, carousing, mean looks, slander, arrogance, foolishness-- all these are vomit from the heart. There is the source of your pollution."

When Jethro told Moses to appoint men to judge the people in civil and other matters, The Judeges were to judge the people according to God's laws. The judicial system today, is nothing but a copy of the judicial system of the Bible.
The only thing though, is that this judicial system has twisted God's laws. The very first judicial system was brought forth by Moses on the advice of Jethro telling him to appoint other men to help him judge the people. Yet this judicial system does not even want the 10 Commanments posted in the court house.
But yet they will ask you to put your hand on the Bible and swear to tell the truth. But this modern day judicial system has went against God, they have taken God out of the system. And God appointed these men to be his ministers.
For Godly justice. Romans 13:1-6. They have taken it upon themselves to say killing a unborn child is lawful. They have taken it upon themselves to say that God, should not be involved in government, when He is the first one to establish government. Man can't come up with nothing that was not in the mind of God first. Government was God's idea, not man. This nation for the most part, has turned her back on God. And she will pay, unless she repents, and turns back to him. And a lot of this is Christians fault because we don't take a big enough stand, we let this happen, we let the government get away with murder. We need to commit the act of interposition, for these unborn babies and other, act against God

The OT system was a theocracy, not a republic or democracy. Our earthly judicial system (run by man) is still a man-centered entity even though we have some laws that are similar to OT civil laws.

The only thing though, is that this judicial system has twisted God's laws.

We agree on that, based on the fact that the country's origin took into consideration God's moral absolutes and it has been slowly watered down and the law re-interpreted.

The very first judicial system was brought forth by Moses on the advice of Jethro telling him to appoint other men to help him judge the people. Yet this judicial system does not even want the 10 Commanments posted in the court house.

That's actually delegation of authority. However, any man-centered system (like we have now) is going to take a downward spiral morally by the use of justifiable reasoning.

But yet they will ask you to put your hand on the Bible and swear to tell the truth. But this modern day judicial system has went against God, they have taken God out of the system. And God appointed these men to be his ministers.

IMO, I don't think He appointed very many of them, but they got into office anyway. We still have remnants fo God in our system, but it's fast getting removed by the atheists.
God appoints men (in general) to hold positions of authority for regulating society and preserving order, but what happens in the machine gets a little more into the struggle for control.

I usually pray along the lines of Abraham's request in Lot's situation. To spare for the sake of the righteous.

All morality comes from the Bible, and we have a lot of laws that are similar to the OT. Not just a few but a lot, because they come from the OT, out of the 613 laws of the Torah the moral ones still stand, the sacrificial ones are done away with. But not those moral ones.

Like the moral law that says adultery is wrong? That's definitely against the law right? Or the moral law that says idolatry is wrong? Or the moral law that says disrespecting one's parents are wrong? It's quite clear that our legal code is not based on the moral laws of the OT.

There use to be in the 17th and 18th and early 19th a lot of moral laws that were enforced. And some were not, but much, much more than today. Disobeying parents back then was big trouble, adultery was on the books as a crime that could be prosecuted, but in most cases was not.Unless you were a woman. You would have been hung for even talking about same sex marriage.

Y'know, there's a fairly good argument that, as much as the atheists don't want religion in the governing business, a lot of churches don't want the government in the religion business. I mean, if you look at England, and the problems it caused there, and at Saudi Arabia, Israel, Palestine, Iran, etc., etc., government by religion seems to be, universally, a pretty bad idea, because the religion may start by running the government, but soon, the government is running the religion.

And to address the original point, judges have to take an oath to uphold the laws, precedents, and Constitution of the United States. If they feel that they can't make that mesh with them being Christian, then they need to either stop being judges, or stop being Christians.

Christians were supposed to influence government. Not government influence Christianity.
There are a lot of things that are supposed to happen that don't. Intermixing government with religion is just asking for trouble.

As I recall women weren't expected to be apart of the government and neither were those damn darkies.

Oh how this country has sunk.
