I stand alone, upon this loud plain
This earth, covered in darkness
Gone is the light, my guide
Blind have I become, eyes open
To the east and west I see
The burning of time and space
Voices cry out from afar
But no one responds
Seek comfort where it is found
But peace is a distant memory
Wars destroy the earth with fire
As speech divides the Christian sects
The believers rage against each other
Proving nothing, gaining no ground
Hate and envy burn the souls
Intolerance breeds ignorance
I stand alone, I see no end in sight
This pain and suffering, no one takes a stand
I close my eyes to shed tears in silence
And there behind the folds of darkness I see
Before me sits the throne most high
The light penetrating the blackness of the world
His presence felt, the angels heard as whispers
Giving me the strength to make a stand
