ford doesn't make the ranger no mo. gm killed its Colorado, mazda? nope, Honda, never sold one in the states. dodge doesn't do either, so im left with used cars that are too old and not well maintained or a new one from Nissan and also Toyota which are about the size of the f-100. and don't get great gas mileage.my current Nissan frontier beats the larger version of its self.
:(

my wife isn't able to drive my truck easily. I have seen her try and when im being picked up from work. I must drive. I don't mind that but if im gone for two weeks, its really an inconvenience.

I hear you brother. I'm driving an old 92 Dodge van. i had a nice '05 Ford van for work before I lost it to an accident.
She can't drive a stick? can't she learn it?

I think the way to go at this point is a well cared for used truck that is of the type that is easily worked on at home. The newer ones they make almost impossible for the owner to work on themselves.

no, she can but she is at that age where it hurts to operate the clutch. her back and hips bother her. I could drive a stick for more years, but when im that old I will go for an auto.

I prefer not to go that route. I have seen those old ones here,. most are too old to be reliable. some might but if its an American with over 100k miles? no thanks.
