While nail-biting may seem like a form of self-cannibalism, it's not the same.
Cannibalism is consuming flesh from a member of one's own species, and nail-biting doesn't involve eating any meat. It's more of a nervous habit that some people have, which is not uncommon. I used to have this habit, but I gave it up after entering one of the schools for estheticians, as I wanted to have pretty nails. That's essential for me now.
