IMAGINE:
A new Christian comes into the church...then reads this Bible verse.....
2 Thessalonians 2:3 "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come (Christ's 2nd coming), except there come a [falling away first], and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition"

This person then thinks to themselves, "I'd best be on the lookout for this to come, so I'll recognize it, when it comes".

How does that person know, that he is not 'already' come into a church, that has fallen away ?

I mean, his thinking is that it is a future event, yet to come, doesn't he.....don't you ?

Eventually the HOly Spirit brings them out. If not then they are not God's child.

One does not know...only the Lord does. He will call those out from falling away, who will listen. Since there has to be a falling away however some will not hear.

We need only concern ourselves with listening for the Lord's promptings by the Holy Spirit; and encouraging others to develop a personal relationship with the Lord through their Holy Spirit.

Man cannot save man from damnation. Only Christ can.

Scripture teaches that Jesus Christ is the author and finnisher of our faith...praise God!

The Lord bless you

The Holy Spirt works through those THE LORD wills for his purpose.

Intellect has absolutely nothing to do with it, neither do impressions.

Hosea 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee....."Does intellect, have anything to do with knowledge ?

Sputnik: With knowledge, however, comes much responsibility. For those of us on this forum who profess such scriptural knowledge ...much more is expected. Some of us DO indeed apply our 'knowledge' with intellect and we DO (even if inadvertantly) flaunt this on a regular basis. These days I often feel as though I'm not 'up to the task' and am occasionally envious of someone's 'simple faith'.

You said it yourself.....those with extra knowledge have a responsibility to others, not as a judge, but as a guide.
I am constantly aware of (Ezekiel 33:7-9)....and the wanings God has placed on us, to our fellow man, whatever our knowledge happens to be, at the time.
