I know the issues with connecting to the internet but I even use Google in my Bible studies. And google, without the capital letter is, today, an accepted verb. GO GOOGLE IT!

About all the information you would ever want to know.When I was a kid I loved our set of Encyclopedias but Google has surpassed that.

just because its on the internet doesn't make it true. I posted and sent some false info to a member here and on fb about Hanoi Jane fonda. I caught it a bit late for the fb ordeal but not for the person here. so I sent the correct stuff on her actions in nam.

Sometimes you have to use other sources other than google.

that includes any internet source, and well it wasn't google that I got that from. fb friend of a friend. I corrected the problem via another search engine. ask and bing are my usually search engines. we pick what we want at times for our bias. I have done that.

Good judgement is essential when reading anything on the web. Google displays what is on the web. Any idiot can post it. I have launched a number of web sites over the years and several have given me typed and hand written "reviews" they wanted posted until I scared them out of that practice by explaining that these reviews were logged and in the log the IP Address was recorded and lead directly back to their computer. I have had several people give me wiki links because they believe them and, usually, get really upset when I explain I can go there and edit the content just as any can. The Bible and the Britannica, yes, the web, only with verification.
 
Considering the amount of information on the internet today, I wander what percentage of it is false and misleading.compared to what percentage of the information in old school textbooks and encyclopedias is false and misleading. I wonder if the percentage is really all that much higher?
 
My old World Book 1966 encyclopedias says that Pluto is a planet.

for the time being that was written, that wouldn't be a falsehood but a scientific error that was shown to be as such by the scientific method. we cant do that too science. if we do, have fun with just the basic theory of electricity as Rick W will tell you we don't understand what moves in electricity. everyone assumes its the positive side that moves. its never been that way its always the electrons.
