How's it going brothers and sisters? Pastor Tippe here, for my first devotional I'd like to speak about using the internet safely. A weeks ago a man came up to me after service and told me about how his identity was stolen and before he had found out it was too late. Thousands of dollars were charged onto his credit cards, his bank accounts had been drained, because of this he lost his home, his car, his family had left him. I've kept in touch with this man, and my and my whole entire church are praying and helping him get his life back in order.
Now in this day and age it's not uncommon for our friends and family to use Email, chat rooms, download files off the internet, use Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, or many other social networking services. Others use these services to spread viruses and keyloggers to see everything that you are typing, they steal your log-ins, they steal your passwords or any other information that you might put in, like social security, credit cards, bank accounts and they sell them on the black market. They can search thorough everything on you computer, and they can hide these from many Anti-Virus programs. Identity theft is one of the fastest growing online crimes in the United States, with as many as 9 million Americans falling victims to it each year. It happens when people least expect it.
My friend recommended that you visit tinyurl.com to sign up for ProtectMyID to help reduce the risk and help protect you and your family, this offers complete identity theft protection. This program can catch identity theft and fraud when it happens. I'm actually really glad I signed up, I can now sleep easy at night knowing that if anything happens me and my family will be protected. I recommend everybody check out this program it's worth it, tell your family and friends about it!
GOD BLESS!
P.S. Pray that we can this man gets his life back in order
