Is Jesus Christ's Life Actually Documenting The End Times?
If one views the ministry of Jesus Christ, as not only a historical record of Jesus Christ's accomplishments, but also as God foretelling the events of man's last days, then you will view each significant event in Jesus Christ's ministry as a living prophetic record of the end times. This prophetic record, while not written by man through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit as it has been done in the past, is now acted out by God himself as Jesus Christ. Each event in Christ's life then becomes a symbolic instance of a future event in man's last days which we call the tribulation. The life of Jesus Christ, while documenting man's salvation, is simultaneously representative of the future events leading up to the antichrist, and man's final judgment. Jesus Christ's own life is portraying man's original sin, the knowledge of good and evil, by showing its consequences as salvation and damnation. Salvation by Jesus Christ and damnation by the antichrist.
Take for instance Jesus Christ's baptism. Here you have the Holy Spirit descending upon the sinless Jesus Christ. Afterward Christ disappears into the desert for 40 days and 40 nights. I contend, that in prophetic terms, this could relate to mankind today. Jesus Christ's baptism, in this aspect of his ministry, represents those who believe in Christ and are now forgiven of their sins and afterward, upon receiving the Holy Spirit, go throughout the rest of the world, not only to be tempted by Satan, but to bring the message of Jesus Christ's crucifixion, death, and resurrection and subsequent offer of forgiveness to those living in darkness, i.e. the desert.
Then in Matthew 4: 10-11 you have
*10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’
*11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
This could be indicative of the rapture where the believer's testing and trials by Satan are over and Satan leaves them when Christ appears in the clouds. The rapture sets in motion the tribulation and the emergence of the antichrist. Remember that the antichrist is the opposite of Jesus Christ so instead of Satan leaving Christ, as it was in Christ's time, Christ will leave Satan when Jesus Christ appears in the clouds to take his faithful away. If Christ represents the believer and Satan the unbeliever then the two will separate after the 40 days and 40 nights by way of the rapture.
Next you have the events of Jesus Christ's ministry that will ultimately be mimicked by the antichrist himself. What happens after the baptism is that Christ calls out his disciples. If one looks upon the twelve disciples as the twelve tribes of Israel you realize that the antichrist will also try to make all of Israel into his supporters with miracles and great acts of generosity, i.e. the feeding of the multitude.
The correlation between Christ's ministry and the future events of the antichrist, in essence, is God foretelling the last days of mankind that culminates with man's final judgment. The ministry of Jesus Christ is to be viewed, as not only documenting God's salvation for mankind, but simultaneously also man's ultimate judgment by God by laying out the chronology of future events of the antichrist by what transpired in Jesus Christ's own life.
It is the good and the evil in reverse. Exactly the same but opposite.
God Bless
