I disagree with the following statement:
""here is an important Christian element, however, because the Apostle John says Isaiah saw Jesus’ glory in John 12:41. If you were to ask Isaiah whose glory he saw, he would have said, “The Lord’s.” But if you ask John whose glory Isaiah saw, he would say, “Jesus’.” In fact, what Isaiah saw was a vision of the preincarnate Son of God."
I consider that Isaiah saw a vision of Jesus enthroned in the future Kingdom, and Isaiah 6 is thus parallel with Isaiah 2.
I am not quite sure if you are applying this to the vision of Isaiah 6. There is another vision of the Throne of God. Psalm 110:1 (KJV): The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
This is a vision of the One God, Yahweh, God the Father sitting upon His own Throne, and then inviting David's Lord to sit down at His right hand. This verse is written in what is known as in the prophetic past, but this event was future to the time of David, and was also future to Isaiah's time. It is a vision that needs to be compared with the vision of Isaiah 6. Isaiah 6:1–4 (KJV): 1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. 2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. 3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. 4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
There is a question of time sequence. How do we compare Psalm 110:1 with Isaiah 6:1. they are different pictures and different times. Psalm 110:1 speaks of the exaltation of our Lord Jesus Christ after his death and resurrection. By comparison where do the details of Isaiah 6 fit Psalm 110:1. Isaiah 6:1 does not fit the period before the exaltation of Jesus, as Psalm 110:1 speaks of the One God, Yahweh, God the Father sitting upon God the Father's Throne. Isaiah 6 reveals Jesus as a King/Priest sitting upon a Temple Throne upon the earth. There are symbolic aspects, where instead of the Ark of the Covenant, we have Jesus sitting upon the Throne, and instead of static Cherubim of gold overlooking the Mercy Seat, we have active Seraphim doing the bidding of Jesus. Thus I suggest this is speaking of the future reign of Jesus as King/Priest on the Temple Throne of David in Jerusalem for the 1000 years.
