James 5:16

What does James 5:16 mean?

It can be helpful sometimes to tell others about the sins we’ve committed (not in great detail, though) and the consequences of those sins, so they might be influenced not to commit the same sins.

16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much

It follows what James said in chapter 4
“ God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble

To confess your sins is to become humble, to become humble is to access grace. for prayer to avail the prayer must have righteousness (which grace brings) and fervancy (which faith brings)

If you want anything from God, including healing. Start there.
