Matthew 12:36 KJV, "But I [Jesus] say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement."
Proverbs 10:19 KJV, "In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin; but he that refraineth his lips is wise."
Titus Ch. 2 KJV instructs "Old men, "Older women," "Young men," and "Younger women" to be "sober."
I Peter 4:11 KJV, "If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God."
Webster's Dictionary, "chat n. light, informal talk."
Jesus is always recorded in Scripture to have spoken concisely, briefly upon any particular topic, and always germanely to the agenda of His Father. Jesus only spoke about important things, and never wasted anyone's time with inconsequential babble for the sake of "Helping visitors feel welcome!"
It is best to have a Theology, i.e. a "Knowledge of God," based upon the record of Scripture rather than upon what "Seems to make sense!", and certainly not based upon "Just how people are!" Jesus was perfect according to The Father's standards, not according to today's expectations.
Praise God for the clarity and sufficiency of His Word in Scripture so that we may know the real facts about Jesus without using human imagination.
