OK....I got a really bad case of it.

I sleep like a rock and regardless of where I am and what I am doing I will take a nap at bedtime...

Problem is that my "day" is starting at 3 am lately.

I'm awake usually at four so I can get to work by 6....but this is ridiculous. I find myself falling out at 7pm. Unable to stay awake.
Yesterday I got out and went house hunting... needing a new place to rent. Found some nice ones. Nothing but deciding to it now.
But I was out at 7 last night barely after I finished eating my dinner...still had bacon cheeseburger in my teeth.
(Not pleasant experience)

Anyone got any ideas?

No ideas mate other than drink night nurse.

All I can is lift you up.

Father I pray for good sleep for JDB. May he sleep well and wake up refreshed and raring to go. I also pray for the a place to rent, a place where you want him to be.

Amen

Yes.
You're supposed to drink a lot of fluids while in flight.
Once home, wait as long as possible to get to your regular bed time.
Take a sleeping pill. Even though you think you don't need one.
Do this for 3 or 4 nights in a row.

It works. I've had plenty of experience.

For all the time changes in the military, I never found one other than to persevere and just the idea upset me, still does!

You might try "earthing" or "grounding." Look it up on youtube. Take your shoes and socks off and stand or sit barefoot in damp grass until your natural body frequency returns to normal.

I do that accidentally in the mornings...
(Too lazy to put on slippers)
Meaning earthing wasn't my intent but I do it anyway.

They say there is at least a 10 min. requirement, but for severe jet lag it may have to be extended. I sleep with a "grounding wire" across my bare back and have found it to be extremely helpful to restful sleep.

Do you live in Sedona, Arizona?

Dampen the dirt. Even better effect. The electric resonance of the earth is the same frequency as the electrical frequency in our bodies. Approx. 8Hz. One of the causes of jet lag is from being disconnected for a longer period of time.

Doesn't jet lag have a little something to do with different time zones and the body being out of sinc with the time?

This is a rhetorical question, of course.
Well, do you live in Sedona?
The New Age capital of the world??!!

I do live in a semi-arid climate. Yes. I haven't had the occasion to try grounding for jet lag. I am making a 5 1/2 air journey in Nov. so am going to try it out. I have tried it for 3 1/2-4 hour air flights and it seems to be effective.

I just stumbled into grounding a year and a half or so ago. But I do know it works for me. It has a very calming effect on my body. One of my son's has a certain type of electrical meter that measures stray voltage in the body. There are certain places in my home where the stray voltage in the body reaches as high as 10 or more volts. This drops to less than .05 volts when grounded.

Since our body works on low frequency type of current being disconnected in air travel and/or the resulting friction/static juice from air travel or even car travel, the normal frequency is disrupted causing jet lag, or in a long car trip it also causes some disorientation/disconnected feelings.

The grounding process speeds up "normalization."

Smaller, I paid about $200. on some contraption that sounds like what you're talking about.
My girlfriend swears it works for her. it didn't work for me. I think it's very psychological.

A 3 1/2 hour flight doesn't count. You have to cross at least 5 or 6 time zones to get jet lag.
Some people don't even get it. You'll have to make a trip to Europe if you want to discover jet lag!

Wondering

I know it's physiological from measured personal experience. How one might "feel" about that change will vary but there IS a physiological change from grounding. I also think that if a person has high stress levels, which I do have in my work, excess juice can exacerbate body stresses. I can feel the effects in just a few minutes. I also have some minor nerve injury in my lower back and legs from arthritis in my lower spine working against the nerves that control my legs. (years in the construction/farming industries) which is helped considerably by grounding.

I get some mild "jet lag" disorientation from travel through 2 time zones in the U.S., but definitely not like crossing the Pacific or Atlantic. I had jet lag from a trip to Norway that took 13+ hours each way in the pre-jet age where I was literally gritting/grinding my teeth and squinting hard to keep my eyes shut when trying to sleep. It took me at least 3 days or more each way to feel like I recovered. And have had it also for overseas trips in the 7-8 hour range. I wish I had known about grounding then. Just haven't had the chance to try it yet for a longer trip.

Right. 3 days is just about what it takes to get back to normal.

Take my advice:
Take that long trip and check out the grounding!!
LOL
Any excuse is good for a long trip...

One of my son in laws may be getting transferred to Singapore for his yob. Guarantee my wife and I are anticipating the pleasure of a half way around the world trip if that happens. I am looking forward to eating durian, barefoot on a beach somewhere in Malaysia recovering from jet lag. If that doesn't happen we've been contemplating spending a couple months or so in Thailand. Maybe in the Chang Mai area.

A couple of months??
That's all?
LOL !!
Good for you -

It's a little too crowded and under military control for my longer term likings. At 6'3" I'd be standing out like a sore thumb bad enough anyway. People of smaller stature automatically dislike tall people. So I usually have my work cut out for me to overcome that.

Never thought about this. The disliking of tall people, I mean. I'm surprised to tell you the truth.
I think Malaysia is nice. Joseph Prince is in Singapore. He could talk you into the hyper-faith movement!
Then you could come back and spread the leavening.
Well?
