John 1:1- In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God [devine].
2- The same was in the beginning with God.
[They try to ignore that he was "WITH" God- for that means he wasn't LITERALLY God.
Moses, too, was "God"- Ex 7:1-"I have made thee God to Pharaoh"- Darby]
The "Word" here means Spokesman- one who SPOKE for God as the context clearly shows:
3- All things were made through him; and
[Notice "THROUGH" him?]
without him was not anything made that hath been made.
10- He was in the world, and the world was made through him,
and the world knew him not.
14- And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld
his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full
of grace and truth.
[Note he says they SAW him- compare with the next verse!]
18- No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
Many thousands saw Jesus!
