Matthew Seven:1-6

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

4Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.”

“Now let the fear of the LORD be on you. Judge carefully, for with the LORD our God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery.”

“for the tree is known by its fruit.”

The surest way to being deceived is to refrain from judging whether teaching is right or wrong or mixed. All the cults I ever heard want it’s adherents to judge nothing at all, just swallow everything hook, line, and sinker.

“Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see (judging) if what Paul said was true.”

Once the log is out of the eye, one can see clearly to judge and help.

Verse 2.For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
Is the key.
The passage is not saying, as so many ignorant people say, Don't judge, but make correct judgements.

Yes. It’s saying don’t be a hypocrite, doing the very things you criticize others for doing.
