Just like in the days of noah

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Matt 24:

37But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Jesus makes a sloemn statement here, right before his second coming, it will be as the days of noah..

#1. Only few people were actually saved..so its like that today, from a percentage standpoint its equivalent..

#2. The few that were saved, would be the only ones saved, even during noahs time of preaching. His preaching was not to convert any to God, for God had already told noah what to do in building the ark and who he had saved and would preserve from the flood..For noah to preach anything different would be presumption on his part..notice directive from the LORD..

gen 6:

7And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
8But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
9These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
10And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
11The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
12And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
13And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
14Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
15And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
16A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.
17And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
18But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.
19And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.
20Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.
21And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them. 22Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

God did not want noah to preach repentance or He would have directed him to..

Same thing in the days of Lot..there was no warning to repent and turn to the Lord, but only an purpose of Divine Judgement..

gen 19:

12And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:
13For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.
14And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.
15And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
16And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.
17And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
18And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my LORD:
19Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:
20Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.
21And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken.
22Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do anything till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.
23The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar.
24Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; 25And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.

Jesus talks about a time that would come and no man could work,,

jn 9:

4I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

I believe this hour is described in rev 20:

7And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

3And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

This little season is the Jacobs trouble or the great tribulation period, and during this time, the gospel will serve only as a testimony, a witness, and no conversions will occur, all the elect have been converted and sealed and waiting for His coming..

Matt 24:

14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come

Conversion is not the purpose for this testimony of the gospel, just a witness..

I couldn't disagree with you more. The gospel designed not to lead peaople to God, but as a witness to judgment? I hope I am reading you wrong. The 'good news' of the gospel may not be that good after all.

Lu 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

Ezek 16:49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

I found this in a study I did a couple of months ago.Whenever I considered the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah, and related them to end-time events, along with Noah's generation, violence and immorality always came to the fore. But we read in the gospels Jesus' reference to Sodom and to Noah's generation that they ate, drank, bought, and sold, planted and builded. Where is the sin in that? Is there anything wrong with those things? No, there is not. But read the passages again. And then read the above passage from Ezekiel. Notice that the people did all those things right up to the time when God visited upon them His judgments.

Luke 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

What this tells us is that those occupations that they were engaged in was ALLthey were doing. They had no time or recources for the poor. No time or recources for God.It was this preoccupation with feasting etc and the things of this life that led to greater immorality. They became evil because they wer self-willed, and no-one else was considered.

1 Tim 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

The sins of Sodom as expressed in the scriptures were the fruit of a life lived for self pleasure and self-gratification.

Now, let us consider our day.

Revel 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

This wickedness has even entered into the church of the last days.

Revel 18:5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

Babylon. Her sins are easily recognised also. As a worldwide confederacy against the people of God , her past violence and cruelty against the saints of God, and her involvement in wars worldwide.

24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

We also read it seems nearly every day of the gross immorality of her leaders and we learn of a past history of the apostate church as one of licentiousness and all manner of wickedness.Violence and immorality, Just the very same sins for which the generation of Noah were destroyed.
Now read carefully the following and compare with what Jesus said "as in the days of..."

Revel 18:7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow 8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her...
11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.
15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
16 And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought.

Verse 14 is the key. "The fruits that thy soul lusted after"
These riches are all she lived for. They were the root cause of her downfall and the fruits of immorality and violence came from a tree corrupt to its very core.

Little wonder that God pleads for those still within her prior to His coming to " Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities." Here is the gospel!!! It is for us to preach this message. It can be found in a more full version in Revelation 14. It is called the 3 angels messages. It is the everlasting gospel and is to be preached to everbody upon the earth. Note, that the judgement has already come. It is not a pronouncement of doom, but a call to repentance. As the gospel has always been and always will until the time of the end. When the door to the ark shuts, and hope is gone with the close of time.

Genesis 19:15 ¶ And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.

Note that it is God's purpose to destroy sin, not people. The people were destroyed because they refused to repent and allow God to save them.

God is calling all His people to come out of Babylon today, as His day of judgement is drawing near. God does not reform evil. He destroys it.
I believe there is much to learn from these ancient examples of God's justice. Not only must we come out of Babylon but also ensure thatall the teachings of Babylon is out of us.

God Bless

Yes I believe the time we are in, the gospel is primarily a witness..matt 24:

14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
