I have a cousin whose name is Lacy, and he has been in the ICU for a couple of weeks now with pneumonia. He's been going back and forth between getting better and getting worse. He's eating through a tube and having to have a machine help him breathe. He is concious and alert, but things are still bad sometimes.

Debbie, his mother has been basically living about an hour and a half from home to be with him. She stays with a friend when she can't be in the ICU.

Kenny, her husband has been having to work and help his father who is also in the hospital.

This is a very trying time for them. Please keep them in your prayers. Their names are Lacy, Debbie, and Kenny. (I don't know Kenny's father's name, but seeing as how he's in the hospital for heart trouble, I'm sure a prayer would be appreciated for him as well.) Thank you so much for you concern.

This is an update I got from my aunt about Lacy. He has been getting steadily better since I posted before Christmas. We are so happy for God's miracles. Whereas just a few of weeks ago, Lacy was hovering between death and life, he is now walking and will possibly be going home soon. Thank you for your prayers.

Here's the e-mail from my Aunt Melanie.

Hi,

I called Debbie today, and she hasn't been able to get to a computer lately, but Lacy is doing really well. He is walking some, mostly unassisted, and he should be able to go home by Saturday! He is still taking antibiotics by mouth, but Debbie said he is now "tube-free." He did not have to have the tracheotomy they thought he was going to need when he went off of the respirator. The central line and all other tubes have been removed. He continues to improve and grow stronger daily.

This is an answer to all the prayers that went up for him, and we give the glory and thanks to our awesome God. Debbie wanted me to pass along a big thank you to everyone for all of the prayers you have prayed for him. Thank you for all the cards that were sent too. They really meant a lot to Debbie and Kenny, and Lacy enjoyed them very much. Debbie hung them on the wall for him to look at, and they really brightened up the dull hospital room.

Just wanted to update and thank everyone again and, if you would, please forward this on to others you know who prayed for Lacy.

Lacy is home! He is much thinner than before and still a bit tired, but he is also home! He'll even be going back to work soon! Praise God for all He's done! Thank you, again, for your prayers!

Cly, thanks for the update, praise God! As Tim said, my continued prayers.

Thank you both. Your prayers are much appreciated. :D
