Exactly.. that is what i believe. And it fits with science too.
The world is not almost 6000 years old. Doesn't make sense to me to be honest with you
Many more scripture support old earth than young earth i think..
I could name a few if you want me to... but i do understand and have some respect for the theory and for example the Australians "answer's in genesis"
Wrong on this point tho, i believe ..

I haven't studied this deeply and I am just expressing my personal opinion just to make that clear..

I mainly base my opinion on having read the direct translation of Genesis 1: 1-2
... And it was void.. correct translation of the word "tohu wa-bohu" being translated became instead of was.
So; the world became void...

Other scriptures emply this. For example when we read about satan before his fall.
Talks about him having a kingdom where he reigns..
Ezekiel 28
Isaiah 14
To name a few...

Funny thing is that I came upon this belief without the help of any other "gap theorist" it was 3 years before I found out that other people had already found it and named it. I had an issue with dinosaurs and where they fit in most christians account of creation and the inability to answer my questions led to me considering atheism. The scientific evidence ofcourse led me back to God and years later the bible led me to the gap theory.

My basic summary of it is that God makes everything perfect and darkness in the bible is always a result of sin. So the state of the earth in Genesis 1:2 is the result of judgement. Isaiah and Ezekiel do give an excellent reason for this judgement. Basically Satan used his position to cause a rebellion on earth. Jeremiah 4:23 and a few following verse seem to actually describe this judgement. I say that because I do not find using the same language as genesis 1:2 a coincidence.

But I am willing to try and answer any questions that you might have.

Yes. The Bible is talking about what is relevant. The second creation is. Like you say, almost 6000 years old.
Or in the eyes of God 6 days...

These videos are somewhat short. But does explain the basics of this topic.
She doesn't stray from the Bible. She study's it and understand it correctly.

Two different era's of life on earth.
Post Adam and after Adam. Yes.
It makes sense. It is clearly implied and even proven by the Bible.

It also fits with science. And has more common sense. Than any other theory or interpretation out there.
Like Answers in genesis who believe that the Bible is all literal.
It is. But also is layers of truth. With truths that is found by revelation only.

In short yes. The inorganic material, (rock stone earth and water basically) is the same as the old earth. So fossils and geological rock layers would be from before the six days, while life is created within these six days. This would also mean a much more catastrophic world wide flood than Noah experienced. The results of which would be more inline with the massive dinosaur deaths than Noah's flood.
