Interesting site.

______________________________________________________________

Daniel's 70th week
came right after the 69 weeks, not 2000 years later as an end-times tribulation as Left Behind teaches.

"Christ confirmed the covenant with many during the last week..."
- John Calvin

The Tribulation Jesus spoke of
was a tribulation on "this people," the Jews, beginning when the Romans destroyed Jerusalem  not a 7-year period in the end times as Left Behind teaches.

"'for then shall be great tribulation, such as had not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be.' All this pertains still to the Jewish nation."
- Martin Luther

No 7-year "second chance"
for unbelievers after the Rapture. Christ is coming once, not twice as Left Behind claims.

'the Lord himself shall descend from heaven ... Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up ... to meet the Lord in the air ... then sudden destruction cometh upon them ... and they shall not escape.'
- Paul

The Antichrist is not
a future leader like Left Behind's Nicolae Carpathia, but came to power when the Roman Empire, which was restraining it, got out of the way.

The papacy and Islam are "the two horns of Antichrist."
- John Calvin

The Abomination of Desolation
was fulfilled by the Romans at the desolation of Jerusalem.

"But the abomination of which Daniel writes is that the Emperor Cajus, as history tells, had put his image in the temple at Jerusalem as an idol, for the people to worship, after everything there had been destroyed."
- Martin Luther

They can be wrong if they want to. Each is allowed thier own opinion. However, their end time scenario does not fit the scriptures, as I read them.

You mean the end times the New Testament says was occuring in that day?

1Pe 1:20 who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was manifested at the end of times for your sake,

So what does this mean Coop? What scriptural "end times" do you refer to?

I'm assuming they mean no gap between the 69th. and 70th. week.

"Christ confirmed the covenant with many during the last week..."
- John Calvin
From the historical and consecutive perspective, that sounds correct. This is what Newton believed also.

The Tribulation Jesus spoke of was a tribulation on "this people," the Jews, beginning when the Romans destroyed Jerusalem  not a 7-year period in the end times as Left Behind teaches.
Could be, but it negates a consecutive 70th. week.

"'for then shall be great tribulation, such as had not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be.' All this pertains still to the Jewish nation."
- Martin Luther
Could this suggest another period of Tribulation somewhere in the (our) future?

The Antichrist is not a future leader like Left Behind's Nicolae Carpathia, but came to power when the Roman Empire, which was restraining it, got out of the way.
Could it be that the Roman Empire, or one particular Emperor, is "an" antichrist and that THE antichrist will surface in the (our) future?

The papacy and Islam are "the two horns of Antichrist."
- John Calvin
(in an Artie Johnson voice) "Very interesting".

"But the abomination of which Daniel writes is that the Emperor Cajus, as history tells, had put his image in the temple at Jerusalem as an idol, for the people to worship, after everything there had been destroyed."
- Martin Luther
I've heard that before too.

I mean the biggest part of the book of Revelation, which is our most complete scripture of end times.

You mean the "end times" that was "shortly" to come to when Revelation was written?

Rev 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show unto his servants, even the things which must shortly come to pass: and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John;

The same "end time" events that were "at hand"?

Rev 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written therein: for the time is at hand.

You still didn't answer what "end times" Peter was referring to.
