I have recently been given a school project to explain, in detail a religous ceremony performed by Lutherans. Now, from some previous knowledge most protestant religions aren't to 'ceremony' heavy. But i decided to explain a baptism. Ive tryed looking it up but i haven't been able to find any solid step by step instructions of how they are performed. i was wondering if anyone could help me out thanks.

also if you have anyother suggestions for another ceremony that would be great too.

lc baptism

...being a cradle lutheran myself, i can tell you first hand what it is like. the liturgy is very similar to that of a catholic service. it is also similar to that of an episcopalian worship service. baptism is usually performed on infants, although anyone can be baptised if they join a fellowship and so desire. baptism is usually done by pouring h2o on the head of an infant, usually on the top of the brow, although sprinkling is done in some cases as well. the general baptismal formula is concluded... in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

tetra... :)

PS... the place the baptism is performed is referred to as the baptismal font. it looks like a glorified bird bath...
