rom 5:

For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Just as adams disobedience made many sinners, so likewise, Jesus christ obedience made many sinners righteous..

Not their obedience, not their faith [which is obedience], not their water baptism, not their repentance..but Jesus christ obedience made them righteous before God..

The word made is the greek word:

kathistēmi which means:

to constitute, to render, make, cause to be

This took no action on behalf of the one or ones being rendered or constituted righteous, just as it took no action on their part, to be rendered or constituted sinners..adam did for the one, and Jesus christ did it for the other..

This verse actually condemns 99.9 % of the religons of the world..

Lol, you way off in left field now, read the post again..

Now. who was made sinners in Rom 5:19 by the disobedience of one, that is adam, and who shall be made righteous by the obedience of one, that is Jesus christ ? Its the many for whom Jesus was made a ransom..

Matt 20:28

Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Its the church of God..Eph 5:25

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

It was all of the elect of God who had been given physical being in adam in the beginning..

Now, it must be understood, that this excludes the non elect, which also is the seed of the devil..

For the devils people never fell in adam, nor rose with christ..

The devils people sinned in their father the devil, whom sinned in the beginning..

They shall never be made righteous by the devils obedience, nor by christ obedience..

Rom 5:19 can also read

19For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous [obedient]

In other words, Just as Adams disobedience many are disobedient [by nature] so likewise, by Jesus obedience, many will be made obedient..

That is obedient to the Faith as in Rom 15:18

For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed,

So Jesus Christ obedience shall make many righteous and obedient to the Faith..

Now i can understand more clearly Heb 5:8-9

8Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

9And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey or [obeying] him;

In other words, they're obeying him, is the fruit of His obedience unto death..even the death of the cross..

Is one truly obedient to the faith today ? Then, you have partaken of the obedience of Christ, and God sees you as a righteous, obedient child..not for your sake, but for Christ sake, and his obedience..

The death or obedience of christ effects gospel obedience!

Heb 5:9

9And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

It is because the death or offering of Christ has perfected forever [before God] all them He died for, it too, secures unto them gospel faith and obedience..

Jesus says of His sheep, whom He died for, that they shall hear his voice, follow him, and gives them eternal life..

Jn 10:15,27-28

15As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

All of this is ensured for each sheep for whom Christ died because they have been perfected forever by His death for them..

Two different Causes

Justification [ made or declared righteous] of God's People is ascribed to two causes, both centered in Christ, His active obedience Rom 5:19

19For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one [ Jesus christ] shall many be made righteous.

and to His passive obedience Rom 5:9

9Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Rom 5:19

19For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Its plain from scripture that Christ did not die for everyone without exception, for the simple reason that His death produces positive results or effects.

Christ obedience, as in His obedience unto death[The cross] Phil 2:8

8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

This obedience, the death of the cross, without a doubt, without the possibility of failure, shall make many righteous ! Its just as sure as the disobedience of one made many sinners.

And this apart from from their obedience being a condition, because, it is by the obedience of ONE, that ONE being Christ Jesus, that they shall be made righteous.

The word righteous here is the greek word:

dikaios:

righteous, observing divine laws

in a wide sense, upright, righteous, virtuous, keeping the commands of God

innocent, faultless, guiltless

approved of or acceptable of God

used of him whose way of thinking, feeling, and acting is wholly conformed to the will of God, and who therefore needs no rectification in the heart or life

All these definitions are applied to those whom Christ died and made righteous by His obedience.

Notice in our text Rom 5:19, that by the obedience of one, NOT TWO

This Testimony can only be received by God given Faith, because 99.9 % of religious people cannot believe they can be righteous before God without personal obedience of some kind, in other words, in their mind, one can only be made righteous by the obedience of two, Christ and theirs. Its odd because we were made sinners by only one without yet personal disobedience ! The effects of Adam is given more respect than the effects of Christ, man serves the creature more than the creator !

This means that a person of God given Faith understands that their being constituted righteous is apart from their obedience of Faith. Did you know that Faith in Christ is obedience ? Lets look at Rom 1:5

5By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

Rom 16:26But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

Now, is Faith obedience ever required ? Yes, its required in order to make manifest that one has been made Righteous by the Obedience of ONE , Jesus Christ the righteous, The one who makes righteous.

BUT it obedience is not required to be made or constituted righteous .

If you or even myself believe today that we are or was made righteous by Faith in Christ, the obedience of faith, then we are deceived, because that is rejecting, disregarding the Truth of scripture that many shall be made righteous by the obedience of ONE , that Being Jesus Christ.

If we add to His obedience our obedience of Faith, we add our obedience to His, we therefore claim we are made righteous by the obedience of Two instead of one, which contradicts the word of Truth.

Those Jesus died for shall be made righteous. The word made is the greek word:

kathistēmi and means:

to constitute, to render, make, cause to be

to set down as, constitute, to declare, show to be

Christ obedience will show us to be righteous because of imputed righteousness, it will also cause us to be righteous.
This is confirmed by Heb 5:9

9And being made perfect [Unto Death], he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; or those obeying Him.

If we are obeying Christ, it proves that He hath or is the author of that obedience, its the fruit of His obedience !

So that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us.

All that He rose for shall be made alive !
1 Cor 15:21

21For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

Just as by Man [ Adam] came death, which is separation from God, and physical death, and this without mans freewill or choice, for Adams choice determined their death, so likewise, by Man [ The Man Christ Jesus] comes the resurrection from the dead, both spiritual and physical, and that as well without the freewill of man or mans choice, for Christ obedience unto death and resurrection determined that.

Thats why it is written of the elect of God , those chosen in Christ before the foundation, these words:

Eph 2:1,5

1And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)

Even while being DEAD in sin spiritually, we are made to receive resurrection from the dead, we are made alive, begotten again, not by freewill, but as peter writes by the resurrection of Jesus Christ 1 Pet 1:3

3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again [from the dead] unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Jesus was the Firstborn and firstfruit from the dead of many brethren ! Col 1:18

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Rom 8:29

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

That is His resurrection ensured the resurrection from the dead, both spiritual dead and physical dead of all He died for and rose again.

When one is born again, that means Jesus died and rose in their behalf, its proof of the power of His resurrection Phil 3:10

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection,

He rose as the Great Shepherd of the Sheep according to Heb 13:20

20Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

This ensures that all His dead sheep, both spiritually and physically shall be brought from the dead.

Thats why Jesus can say with certainty, My Sheep hear my voice and follow me Jn 10:27-28

27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

This is because they are first made alive spiritually by the power of Their Shepherds resurrection [ 1 pet 1:3] hence they can hear His voice spiritually and walk by Faith, this is thanks to the Resurrection of Christ, and not the Freewill of Man..

The Lord Jesus Christ saves all whom He died and rose for. They shall be made alive !

Christ, the Gift of God, which is Eternal Life !

Rom 6:23

23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

As by the disobedience of the One Adam, the wages of death was given, not offered, not made available, but Sovereignly given by God's declaration, so likewise, by the Obedience of One [ Jesus Christ] the Gift of God is Given [not offered, or made available], Eternal Life !

Jesus Christ is that Gift which is given, not offered, notice Rom 8:32

32He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give [Not offer] us all things?

Jesus Christ is the Gift of God to His People Jn 4:10

Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

Jesus Christ is that Eternal Life ! I Jn 1:2

(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us.

1 Jn 5:20

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

Christ is given, not offered or made available. He gave, not by being offered to sinners to either accept or reject Him, but by being delivered up to God for our [The elect] Sin Offering, of which offering, God the Father did accept, and so He must give in exchange, Eternal Life experientially to all He died for. Jn 17:2,3

2As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as [The Sheep] thou hast given him. cp Jn 10:27-29

27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

3And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

So when God gave [ not offered ] His Son, He gave all those whom The Son died and rose for, Eternal life. Its as simple as that, if Christ died for one, that one has been given [ not offered] Eternal life.

Thats why it is emphatically stated, that by the obedience of ONE, that being Jesus Christ, many shall [ not might be or maybe] be made righteous [Rom 5:19b] They shall partake of experientially that Gift of Eternal Life that has been given them.

1 Jn 5:11

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

Christ, the Gift of God, which is Eternal Life !

As surety of His People and having had their sins imputed to Him, laid to His Charge, that is He took on their sin debt, absolving it from all the chosen.

So the elect of God can never and never did have any charges laid upon them by God, because of the prospect of and the death of Christ rom 8:

33Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

BTW, The Intercession of Christ has been active since His resurrection, for His elect. The elect He died and rose for did not have to be born in 33 ad for His Intercession to be for them. All the elect in the future generations of His death benefit from His death, resurrection and intercession..

These can never be charged with sin because God hath accepted His Son offering of Himself for them, on their behalf, absolving them of all demerited guilt.

There is nothing else remaining but for them in God's time to receive the gospel or this good news of their forgiveness of sins. This good news will be sent by God to all for whom Christ died. For even Christ resurrection was a declaration, that they for whom Christ died, had been Justified before God rom 4:

25Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for [Because of] our justification.

Christ resurrection was that surety that those He died for was not in their sins 1 cor 15:

17And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

It would not matter what we believed, if Christ was not raised, because that would mean that God did not accept His death as a full payment for our sins, and they would be still charged against us..

satan also huh, + Cain, +++ these ones had nothing to do in OBEDIENCE, huh? Acts 5:32!! You best go back to Heb. 5 for your indepth garbage post here!:screwloose (and start with Gen. 4:7 DESIRED one! and how that he had arrived!)

Re: made righteous by christ obedience !
PS: Totally CONDITIONAL! Unless you can supply another way to have Christ's Garment of Rightousness.

Matt. 22
[7] But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
[8] Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
[9] Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
[10] So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
[11] And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
[12] And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
[13] Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
[14] For many are called, but few are chosen.

Yet, you teach conditions, huh?
--Elijah

Christ death guarantees to make righteous those He died for..Rom 5:19b

so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

He Shall Justify many by His Knowledge !
Another way of saying that by His obedience, He shall make many righteous as per Rom 5:19b

19For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

It is to say that by His Knowledge He shall Justify many as per Isa 53:11

11He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Notice the Three words that are common in these scriptures the preposition BY the verb SHALL and the adjective MANY

So it is by His Knowledge or Experience that He Justifies many..

The word Knowledge in Isa 53:11 is the same as His obedience in Rom 5:19, thats because, when Jesus became obedient unto death [Phil 2:8] He tasted or experienced death for every son Heb 2 :9

9But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste [or experience] death for every man.

Jesus actually experienced death, this gave Him experiential knowledge of death.

You see, all of us know that death is real, we see it around us all the time, but none of us who are still alive physically, we have not experienced physical death, and we do not know it that way, by experience.

But Jesus knows death by experience, He says to one of the churches Rev 2:8

8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;

And so, it was by His experience of death, the knowledge of it, He Justifies the many !

The same thing in Rom 5:19b as to His obedience, by it alone, He shall make many righteous..

So to make righteous or to Justify are the same identical thing..of which happens as a result of His Knowledge as per Isa 53:11 or His obedience per Rom 5:19

I would add, that even though death was the priority of His obedience, yet even His whole active life of obedience in the flesh contributed greatly to gaining that experience or knowledge that Justifies or makes righteous the many..

All for whom Christ died, experienced death in behalf of, shall be Justified or made righteous, hence , all who end up perishing, the unrighteous , the unjust, Christ did not died for them, lest His death was ineffective, which would contradict the very witness I just shared of the results and effects of His obedience from scripture

Rom 5:19

Rom 5:19

19For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Just as by Adam's act of disobedience, causes all those in him, He represented to be made experientially sinners, so all those in Christ, those whom He represented, causes all them to be made experientially righteous.

Now all who were in Adam when he sinned, died to God, all who were in Christ [Chosen in Him before the foundation of the world] when He obeyed, shall live with Him or made to Live. This is the Teaching of the Gospel. As they were made dead in Adam, likewise shall they be made alive in Christ..1 Cor 15:22

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
