Evidence of Huge Ancient Crocodile Found

WASHINGTON (AP)  In the era when dinosaurs ruled the Jurassic earth, a 13-foot oceanic crocodile with a short snout and a mouthful of deadly teeth hunted large creatures in the sea, scientists reported Thursday.

Nicknamed "Godzilla" by its discoverers, the new find was much different from other marine crocodiles, which had long snouts with many small teeth.

Job 40 and 41 cite two living dinosaurs at the time of the writing, so there is no such thing as a Jurassic period.

The earth is only 6,000 years old according to the Bible and I accept God's Word before man's opinions.

On the page you linked to, the explanations at the bottom of the verses said:

Job 40 "possibly the hippopotamus or the elephant"
Job 41 "possibly a crocodile"

Where are the dinosaurs? :(

If you were there or if you believed the Word of God, you would know.

Obvioiusly, the "dinosaurs" mentioned in Job are nothing of the kind. It's just a rather overactive imagination, and a preconceived agenda.

One could equally imagine a gigantic hamster, and the description would fit.

Wait a few years and some evolutionist will hoax one together to prove a transition between dinosaurs and mammals. :D

No, there is no such citation.
so there is no such thing as a Jurassic period.
Yes, there certainly is.

The earth is only 6,000 years old according to the Bible
No, it says no such thing.
and I accept God's Word before man's opinions.
The age of the earth, billions not thousand of years, is not man's opinion, it is fact. And God's Word does not contradict fact. The two are absolutely in harmony.

Bonsai did you ever wonder why the only people propogating these thoughts are those who have never had an education in science or grew up in an atmosphere of misguided trust about the outside world? The evidence and testing confirm over and over the earth is several billion years old. The speed of light confirms the universe is older than that. The walls of Jericho are older than 6000 years. If true then you should be able to prove it with evidence otherwise put that 6000 year thing back in the bottle and fugget about it already. Spouting it over and over doesn't make it true.

Read Job 40:15 where it says the animal has a tail like a cedar tree.

Show me any animal to ever live that had a tail like a cedar tree.

We can both certainly agree that a hippopotamus doesn't have a tail like a cedar tree, right?

Actually it's Job 40:17 "He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together."

It's called analogy. It's quite creative, really. An interpretation by Stephen Mitchell translates the entire passage as:

"Look now: the Beast that I made: he eats grass like a bull. Look: the power in his thighs, the pulsing sinews of his belly. His (censored) stiffens like a pine; his (censored) bulge with vigor."

And is intended to show the power of god the creator of all (i.e check this out, guys, I call it the 'hippo' and it's better than anything you could do) not the creator of dinosaurs specifically. See:

Not likely. All the evidence shows that mammals evolved from therapsids, not dinosaurs.

We even have a few living transitionals mammals, which still show some therapid traits.

And did this crocodile figure out how to make fire or spears with which to outsmart men? :o As you can see, it died out whereas man did not. So how did it rule over men? :o The imaginations of men are capable of making up all kinds of stories, particularly when it comes to trying to prove they're smarter than God.

And did this crocodile figure out how to make fire or spears with which to outsmart men?

...nothing to do with evolution...

As you can see, it died out whereas man did not.

The imaginations of men are capable of making up all kinds of stories,

I couldn't agree more!!!! Although we might disagree on examples.

particularly when it comes to trying to prove they're smarter than God.

Actually, by claiming that God couldn't have made a system whereas evolution works, you are "dumbing-down" God. With an omnipotent god, I would imagine saying "can't happen" would not go over well with him.

Consider the context. Just saying it is analogy or alogory doesn't make it so.

God is showing Job a physical, real creature that was alive at the time as a means of showing his pride.

I agree. This has nothing to do with evolution because evolution doesn't exist. I agree with the scientists who say we're all in a state of decay and the state of the world bares that out. We're closer to annihilating ourselves than ever before and any generation who thinks we came from animals is less intelligent than the previous generation.

But evolution wasn't the title of your thread. Claiming that men didn't rule over the animals was which you haven't proven at all. In fact, I proved the opposite. :-)
