Today’s Scripture
“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven. He has made everything beautiful in its time.” Ecclesiastes 3:1, 11, ESV
Today’s Devotion
Seasons change. Change is difficult. Especially when you’re watching your son or daughter graduate school and move into the next season of life. It can be a time “to weep, and a time to laugh” as you celebrate the conclusion of one life chapter and begin another.
If you and your spouse feel overwhelmed by the changes you’re facing in this life season – whether a child’s graduation, a move, a new job, or a life transition, here’s some encouragement: You don’t face these changes alone.
In his notes in the Everyday Gospel Bible, Pastor Paul David Tripp observes that “God cares about and involved in the details and timing of our lives, from the length of your days to the locations where you live and everything that happens within those boundaries. Wherever your story takes you, you will never arrive there first, because your Lord is already there in sovereign presence and power.”
Life seasons change. Change is difficult. But you’re not on your own. As you and your spouse face a new season, lean on the one who goes before you and trust Him to direct your path.
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, change is overwhelming. We’re trusting you. We acknowledge you are in control of every season of our lives. Direct our paths and draw us close to you and each other during this season of change. Amen.
