We went to a Christmas program tonight and after it was over, the preacher came up and gave word. He was telling everyone how there is one gift that can't be returned....one gift that doesn't cost anything....one gift that will last forever, etc. He then went into prayer. I had Kailey (my 7 year old) on my lap and Courtney (my 6 year old) was sitting beside us. He asked those that were unsaved to raise their hands if they wanted the best gift in life. My 7 year old started crying and she and my 6 year old raised their hands at the same time. I was kind of shocked because I wasn't sure if they fully understood it. They started praying the prayer outloud. My eyes were filling up with tears like crazy (not a good thing since I have pinkeye in both eyes!). I raised my hand to rededicate my life (never a bad thing to do!). Afterwards, I asked Kailey "Why did you raise your hand"? She looked scared at first and I told her "You didn't do anything wrong, I just want to know why you raised your hand". She said "Because I want Jesus to come into my heart". I was ecstatic!
Courtney didn't hear our conversation (I whispered to Kailey because I wanted to see if Courtney fully understood), so I leaned over and asked her the same thing and she had the same reaction (like, "what did I do wrong?"). I told her the same thing that I told Kailey and she said the same thing Kailey said. The now know that they'll go to heaven!
The preacher asked those that rededicated or got saved to stand and it was THE best feeling standing with my two girls that had just gotten saved for the first time! I was so choked up.
Kailey told me about a year ago that she asked Jesus into her heart one night in bed, but I didn't know if she fully understood. Maybe she did, maybe she didn't. I guess I'll never know, but that's not important. What's important is that they DO understand and they are both saved.
I have GOT to get them into a church now. We're going to this particular church Sunday. There is so much about the bible that they don't understand or that they haven't heard. I'm not good at wording things to make it easy for them to understand, so I want them to get into a good Sunday school class.
Anyways, just thought I'd share my happy moment!
