Our monthly mailed-out church newsletter is called the "Beacon" and we're going to start putting the pages online soon. Hence, an opportunity for a graphic...cheesy but I like it:

I started with a very rough piece of clip art, repainted/redrew it practically in PhotoShop Business Edition, used another program (BeckerDraw) to create the words (the only part of the gif that actually changes, except for the light on top of the tower) and then used PaintShopPro 6/Animation Shop 2 to assemble and optimize the .gif...

Not bad but I think you should use a picture of a real lighthouse.
