My heart aches this morning and I’m hoping my fellow believers will join with me in praying for someone I’ve recently come into contact with.
I have an iPad and I love reading books of every kind, especially any that help build my faith. Well, I came across a novel entitled “Chariots of Heaven” and mistakenly assumed it was going to be a Christian book based on the title. Boy was I wrong. The story started out fine, although it was a bit strange. The main character seemed to be operating from a place of having lost faith and I thought eventually she would find God, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. The story continued until the author actually alleged that human beings were created not by God, but by alien beings from another world. It was at this point that I stopped reading the book, but something about it stuck in my mind. As much as I wanted to just forget what I’d read, I couldn’t help but feel sorry for the author and how lost he must be to believe something like that, so I decided to try to contact him this morning. I googled his name and found a blog that he apparently writes and what I saw there just broke my heart.
I’m going to link his post from this morning so you can understand how misguided and lost he is, but be warned it’s not for the faint of heart (there’s nothing vulgar, just heartbreaking): link removed
For this reason, I’m writing here in the hopes that my fellow Christians will take a moment to join me in praying for this author. I’ve always believed the love of God is enough to transform even the most misguided of his children and I sincerely hope this young man’s heart softens towards the church he seems so angry with.
Thank you and may God bless each and every one of us.
