i think there is something in my marriage that seems to irritate/bemuse my wife more than anything else.

I can be sat on the sofa staring out of the window. "What you thinking about? She asks. "Nothing I say"

"You must be thinking of something" me "nope" her "well what you looking at? Me "nothing" her "you must be looking at something" me "nope" and it goes on. She can't accept that nothing is actually going on in my mind at that point in time.

I began to wonder if it was me, but google seems to indicate that I'm not alone.

As Mark Gungor explains

so perfect!

When I am asked that I have learned to pick out something in my field of vision and to name it, the conversation is much shorter and I get to jel-out.

I don't get away with that.

Wife "what you thinking?
Me "nothing"
Wife "what you looking at"
Me "nothing"
Wife "you must be thinking about something or looking at something"
Me to try and cut conversation short "Looking at the clouds"
Wife "well if your looking at the clouds then you must be thinking about the clouds"
Me "nope just watching them go by"

And so it goes on.

Hi Wrg,
Not to worry.
As you get older, you'll find that not only will your wife NOT ask you what you're thinking about or what you're looking at,

If you should happen to ask her: Would you like to know what I'm thinking?
She'll reply: NO!

So take it easy.

Wondering

:rofl2

I always told you you're a smart guy!

Thanks for posting that video Wrg.
It's just too funny!
BTW
Would you mind repeating to me what it was all about??

I don't get away with that.

LOL
