Lk 10:

20Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Written in the book of life, the Lambs book of life, which was written from the foundation of the world.

These are those who have been foreknown and predestinated to the image of God's Son, the Lamb of God. This also implies that Gods election to heaven is of particular individuals, for their names are written in heaven.

This having ones name written in heaven is a great blessing from the Love and Grace of God..

phil 4:

3And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.

rev 3:

5He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

And who is He that overcometh ? They that are born of God and those who believe on the Son of God 1 jn 5:4

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

Those who God Loves, are more than overcomer's ROM 8:37

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Rev 20:

15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Now exactly who is it, that their names are written in heaven ? Lets look at ps 22:

30A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.

Isa 53:

10Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

ps 89:

29His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.

36His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.

Yes, its the seed of Christ, those chosen and given to Him of the Father, whose names were written in heaven and from the foundation..

Notice the correlation of matt 25:34

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

and Rev 13:

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Rev 17:

The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

The word written here and in rev 13 8 is in the perfect tense in the greek, noting its once and for all finality from the past with results into the present and future..

Meaning those names from the foundation have never been in jeopardy, but were permanently written..Because they belonged to the seed of Christ...

Names Blotted out of the book of Life !

Can a True Believer, one for whom Christ died, ever have their name blotted out of the book of life ? The answer is NO..

The first thing that should be realized is that all for whom Christ died or offered Himself for or in their behalf as a sacrifice for their sins, by that same offering, they have all been sanctified and perfected forever..

Heb 10:

10By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

14For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

both words sanctified vs 10 and perfected vs 14 are in the perfect tense in the greek, denoting their permanency, hence as long as Christ Blood has value in the sight of the Father, thats How Long their sanctification and perfection before Him as Judge lasts..

Now with this Truth in mind, It can be shown why its not possible for a True Believer in Christ [one whom He died for] can never have their names taken out the Lambs book of life, written therein before the foundation..

rev 13:

8And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

There names not being written in the book of life presupposes some names were written in the book of life of the lamb slain from the foundation.

This is confirmed with rev 17:

8The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

In both cases the word written is the greek word grapho perft pass ind, which means having been written.

Note on perfect tense: its that tense that looks not only at the beginning but also the conclusion of the action, it means a present condition or state as a result of a past completed action !

I am going to establish why some have had their names written in the book of Life before the foundation of the world.

The reason being, is because they were blessed of the Father from the foundation of the world when the Eternal Kingdom was prepared for them.

Matt 25:

34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

Notice, then shall the King [Jesus Christ] say to them on His right hand, come ye blessed of my Father !

The word blessed here is perf pass part of the word eulogeo, meaning they had been eternally blessed or Favoured by God !

Now Jesus goes on to say to them, come inherit the Kingdom prepared This word is the perf pass part of hetoimazo meaning, having been eternally prepared for you, the Sheep.

The Sheep had been eternally blessed and the Kingdom had been eternally prepared and names eternally written concurrently.

Now, all these could not be apart from the Lamb Slain [perft pass part] Having been eternally slain, without this, the names of the Sheep would never have been written in the book of life from [ablative of time] the foundation of the world.

rev 13:

8And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

So: What is the point? Moses in Exod. 32:33 & John in Rev. 22:18-19 (even see Eccl. 3:14!) have it Eternally established that that was only the starting process, (John 3:3-8) for God told 'all' that they could be removed as well! See Matt. 23:38, Rev. 3:16 + THE FACT in Rev. 2:5's [WHOLE CANDLESTICK!]

And 'i' am wondering about your Rev. 22:18-19 Posts as well??

Name Was not found written

Rev 17:8

The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Rev 20:15

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Not one person whose name was not written in the book of Life from the foundation of the world can be saved, they are people without hope, and without God in the world. This simply means that Christ did not die for them, and He will say to them in spite of their sincere religious endeavors Matt 7:23

23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The Bible's Christ died for everyone; not just for some.

†. Luke 2:10-11 . .The angel said to them: Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.

†. John 3:16 . . For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish

†. John 12:32 . . And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me

†. 1Tim 4:10 . . We trust in the living God, who is the savior of all men

†. 1John 2:2 . . He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

People's names were pre-registered in the lamb's book of life due to his Father's foreknowledge. In other words; the Bible's God simply saw ahead who would, and who would not, buy into His son's crucifixion.

†. 1Pet 1:2 . . Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father

Something to Rejoice about !

Lk 10:20

Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Jesus gives His People and those it is True of, to know that their names are written in heaven, meaning the book of life, as here

Phil 4:3

And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.

No doubt if Paul knew this of others, God gave them the Knowledge as well.

This has to do with having had ones Name written from the foundation Rev 17:8

The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Jesus gave them an imperative to rejoice about this fact. The word rejoice is the greek word chairō and means:

to rejoice, be glad

2) to rejoice exceedingly

Notice also that its Personal, for each name is for particular individuals. If our names are written in this Book of Life, it means we were Chosen in Christ before the Foundation Eph 1:4 and that Christ died for our sins !

Ephesians 1:4 is speaking of Jews and your reference to the Lambs book of life in Revelation cannot be accurately determined. In Rev 17 the phrase "from the foundation of the world" could grammatically connect to either the names or the book of the Lamb, which cannot be determined with certainty. However, in Rev 13 it is clear that it is the Lamb that was slain beofre the foundation of the world.
