I love the Spurs (Go Spurs, go all the way! :smt038 ) but as I watched them pummel the Suns last night (again) and saw my dear husband go livid (hey he's from Arizona) I got to wondering about the Hack-a-shaq. As of now, it's legal. But, it looks so bad. I mean my Spurs have all it takes to take it all the way. Each member of the team is great, and there are no prima-donna's. They work as a team and are pretty much unstoppable. So, when I see them just go out and hug Shaq, just to stop the clock and get him to the charity line, it simply looks unprofessional. Not classy, and the Spurs are one of the last great class acts in professional sports.

It made my hubby mad. Now, he's hoping that if the Spurs take it to the finals, that Boston will also be there and he's going to root for Boston. Usually he'll always back the Spurs unless and only unless they are against Phoenix. Actually though, a Celtic vs. Spurs final would be awesome basketball.

Eh, a Celtics-Lakers final would be great...20 years ago. :-D

BTW, WHAT is with the Mavs??? Avery Johnson would look great on the Knicks sideline as Head Coach. :D

Yes, a Spurs run all the way would be nice. 8-)

The Mavericks, phooey! I want to cheer for Avery, because I loved him so much when he was one of the great Spurs himself. But, as long as Mark Cuban is the owner of the Mavs = :smt019

Yeah, I'd like to see Avery with the Knicks, the Celtics, or even come back home to San Antonio, anywhere but with Cuban.

It could happen. You know Avery Johnson was fired. 8-)

I didn't know that. Oh well, Avery is a great guy. Hopefully a good team will pick him up. I think he will oneday be a great coach. He's not there yet, but I think he'll get there. And, now he's not with Cuban anymore. (I don't really care for Mark Cuban.)

I checked out some of the buzz and it looks as though the Bull's could consider him.

Also, I think Kerr would be making a mistake getting rid of D'Antoni now. D'Antoni, well even the Suns themselves are kind of the "always a bridesmaid, never the bride". I like the Suns, and they have some truly great players. If they hang on one more year, stablize Shaq into the team, they just could go all the way next year.

Not that I'll root for them while they play against the Spurs though!

I really don't think Steve Kerr wants to get rid of the coach. I was a follower of the Suns back when Paul Westphal was coaching them. That was a good team; Sir Charles, Keven Johnson, Danny Ainge, and Dan Majerle. Man, Danny Ainge was one scruffy player indeed! :-D He even coached the Suns for a while. He was a hothead as a coach too. I don't think Robert Horry and Danny got along much after that towel-throwing incident. LOL

Now there's a big time play maker. I followed his career with all three teams. He's something else in post season play. I just smile and shake my head whenever he comes onto the court because you just never know what he's gonna do. Just ask Nash. 8-)

Can you believe that the Hawks are forcing a game 7 onto the Celtics!?! Wow, what an upset that would be if Atlanta shuts Boston out of the play-offs.

I don't know that I'd like that. I love it when underdogs pull ahead, but on the other hand, I'd really like to see a Spurs/Celtics final.

I agree. :-)

I only pull for the underdogs if it's the Knicks. ;-) ... or any team that played against the Bulls in the Finals. :-D

My two fave players are Bird and Johnson (not necessary in that order). So you could imagine how torn I was when they played each other in the Finals "way back when". 8-)

Well, I've rooted for the Bulls a time or two. I was (and still am) a total fan of Michael Jordan's. I truly think that he was the all time greatest player of the game.

My favs:

Jordan
David Robinson (such a classy guy! I'd vote for David Robinson for President.)
Tim Duncan

and I have to add Reggie Miller

As for Sir Charles, I don't have him in my top favs mainly because I wasn't that big of a fan of basketball when he was playing. (I was following Jordan, but ignorant of the whole picture.) However, since he's retired he is one of my favorite court-side guys.

Uh oh... Atlanta's burning. No upset today! 8-)

Doggone! I had to get some groceries in the house today and yesterday my husband's flu came back with a vengence. I haven't watched any games all weekend! Arrggghhh!

:-D

My boys have got to get their act back on track. I can't believe they're down by 2 to New Orleans. :x

Go Spurs, Go Spurs, Go, Go, Go!

Never doubted for a moment that they wouldn't take out NO! :smt083

Hey, they got their hands full! Now they go home, but they have to some on the road... geesh.

Hopefully, they'll get back to SA, get loved up by their homies, and stop letting LA mess with their minds. I mean, the Laker's aren't bad, but there's no reason why the Spurs shouldn't be able to win.

:smt011 OK, no crybabies but...

WE WAS ROBBED!

Come on, Barry was clearly fouled.

Hey ref...need glasses? :smt025 :smt019
