That's a photo?! It looks like a painting. What a cool scene

It's a photo. Because I shot almost directly into the sun, I had to use HDR processing so that the sky, barns, and trees would all come out with visible detail.

We aren't accustomed to seeing photographs with all the detail visible in such conditions, so we default to "looks like a painting."

I get the same impression, but it's pretty much what I saw when I was standing there. I really like the long shadows.

Truth is, Mrs. Barbarian had run out of battery, and she came up to me and said "come over here, and get a shot of this."

So I can't claim the eye for this one.
