If any of you have been watching the weather channel the past few days, you'll know that there was forcasted a major ice storm in the center of the country. Well, I can give you an eye witness report that it IS a major event and many people (including myself and the others in my apartment complex) are without power and this ice storm is expected to continue until SUNDAY!! :( At the moment, where I work has power, thus why I'm able to post, however, I'm not sure if this building will remain to have power.

Please pray that any more precipitation manifests itself in either sleet or snow, or will dissipate all together. Because of the ice, MANY trees are broken down and are blocking roads, as well as a lot of power lines down, and the others are extremely taxed by the weight of the ice.

This is one storm the Jesus really needs to calm!!

Prayers

I'm keeping all of you in my thoughts & prayers. We went through a similiar such storm 3 weeks ago- out here in the northwest. We were without power for 4 days & many more folks were without power for a week. What took the longest was getting all the power restored to grids in certain areas harder hit than we were & then the rest of the grids could restored. Hopefully you won't be with out power for to long. Stay warm & dry- Plenty of blankets & food - do not use generators indoors- either in a garage with the door open, or in your homes. We have 15 people pass away from doing that. God Bless you-

Thanks to everyone who prayed. Please continue to pray for those without power. It got down to 5º (Fahrenheit, for you non U.S. folk) lastnight, and will be down to probably 15ºF tonight as well. Pray that the utilities crews will make a lot of progress today. They've already made a lot of progress, actually. Many utilities from non-effected surrounding areas have come over to help and are going a great job. But pray that they will remain safe while they work, ie. the cold, and because they're working with electricity.

A praise can be given to God. Saturday and Sunday, we were supposed to get more freezing rain, and when it came through, even though were were only supposed to have a high temp in the upper 20's, the temperature reached 32ºF, so the heavy precipitation that came didn't add to the existing problem.

Today will have a high temp of the mid 20's, but tomorrow, we'll reach into the mid to upper 30's. That should help with melting some of the ice off.

Thanks for all the prayers, everyone, and continue to pray for those still effected.

I finally got power at my apartment yesterday afternoon (had been at my brother's). It was good to be back home.

God Bless you...

Happy to hear that your power has been restored. I pray they'll get a lot more homes' power restored. God Bless you all-

This is the Day that the Lord has made; we shall rejoice & be glad in it

There are still people today that are without power. About a half a dozen people in my office are one of them. Keep praying!

Thanks!
