Oh' Give Me A Break

If the Lord wanted us up there we would have been up there.

And what would you do up there for the rest of your life ? And what will you do when most of your bone mass is gone from living in space ?

Sounds like it'd make a good anime. But for reality? I'll pass.

2025 is not a realistic timetable. First they should send robots to set up a base, complete with robotic factory to produce a city using indigenous materials. This will give them experience in dealing with the Martian environment. This would take a minimum of a century to do right, because they would need to produce almost everything using Martian materials.

Right now the best that they have been able to do is send a robotic golf cart to Mars to drive around and take pretty pictures. The technology just isn't there yet for a Martian colony, and won't be for a long time to come.

If the Lord wanted us on Mars we would have all been born
with little antennas sticking out of our heads.

...and have a neurotic neighbor named Bill Bixby.

I wouldn't go in a man made ship. If the Lord wanted to transrelocate me to Mars for some reason, like to show me something then I would go. Sounds fun.

I agree it's just a pipe dream. I have always thought that.

flight was once considered a pipe dream. aviation is still risky. I can post stats of how many men died in ww2 in my state just training and its about 300000.

"We are going into the outer reaches of the solar plexus where...man has never set foot...
...in that! Indestructible the Second!"

"What happened to Indestructible The First?"

"It fell apart."

I wonder if this was the same reactions people had when people went to explore the new world here in the Americas?

probably. I wouldn't go myself, but yeah I could see that being said then, considering the idea of flat earth was most prevalent then in 1492. though I don't see the point to go for me. that said, its not a sin to colonise planets in the bible. we traveled to the moon.
