I posted this link in the prayers forum, but I just can't quite get over how much this has upset me. The long story short is that I mistakenly started reading a book called “Chariots of Heaven” thinking it was going to be a Christian story, but it was far from it (it actually proposed the idea that humans were created not by God, but by aliens) and when I searched for the author in order to try to share my testimony about the gospel with him, I discovered this blog post:

How can our world have fallen so far that an author would purposely try to undermine the faith of others and the truth of the gospel by influencing young readers to turn away from Christ and embrace sin as good and normal. I know many have differing views about homosexuality, but the bible doesn’t really leave a lot of room for interpretation about it being a sin (at least the way I read it). I am worried about the growing popularity of this author and what impacts it might have on the faith of our younger generations. I hope my fellow Christians will join me in praying for this young man and maybe even warning our fellow believers to stay away from his books, they are clearly written with the darkest of intents.

What do you think? Am I just overreacting or is this truly disturbing as a Christian?

So why post the link? the link has been edited out. Reba

I only provided it because I wanted to know if my reaction was justified or not, but maybe it's better for it to not be in there.

Honestly, it doesn't surprise me. These things have to happen.

2 Thessalonians 2
3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,
4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

Are you overreacting?

No.
.

Yeah, there's a whole industry built around this idea that human life is the result of alien manipulation of native earth primates. You're not going to be able to do anything about it, it's part of worldly corruption. We just need to be prepared to respond to Christian friends about it if they ask.

Now, I am of a completely different mindset than you, LoG. The first reality we have to face is this: These sorts of books, movies, too... The Hobbit Series, Harry Potter, etc, are already out there. There is not a thing we can do about that. It's done, and in place in our culture.

Secondly, I can't do a blessed thing about any stranger who chooses to read them... or go see the movies.

But, I CAN make sure that I do NOT pull the misdirected, boneheaded stunt of telling my children they cannot look at these things. You who have been parents for any length of time know that is probably the most expedient way in the world to get your kids to sneak around behind your back, and do everything they can to obtain a copy of the book or slip into that movie with their friends.

So, how do we handle this within our own family? I could easily say right here, but I know we have too many wise parents on here that also know the solution...... so I'll just leave it with what I've said.

Jesus said that the end times would be like the days of Noah. Aliens are demonic deception. Look up Age of Deceit by Facelikethesun. Also check out Chris White and his Ancient Alien debunking. And if you want to read a hefty book on Aliens from the Christian persepctive, check out Exo-Vaticana. Read about Aliens and Nephilim and you'll learn that Aliens really originate from the occult.

And in the end of it all, we should mourn for the lost.

At the same time, when we are reviled and persecuted, and when you see prophecy come to pass, rejoice as Jesus said, for our redemption draws closer.
