I posted this link in the prayers forum, but I just can't quite get over how much this has upset me. The long story short is that I mistakenly started reading a book called “Chariots of Heaven” thinking it was going to be a Christian story, but it was far from it (it actually proposed the idea that humans were created not by God, but by aliens) and when I searched for the author in order to try to share my testimony about the gospel with him, I discovered this blog post:
How can our world have fallen so far that an author would purposely try to undermine the faith of others and the truth of the gospel by influencing young readers to turn away from Christ and embrace sin as good and normal. I know many have differing views about homosexuality, but the bible doesn’t really leave a lot of room for interpretation about it being a sin (at least the way I read it). I am worried about the growing popularity of this author and what impacts it might have on the faith of our younger generations. I hope my fellow Christians will join me in praying for this young man and maybe even warning our fellow believers to stay away from his books, they are clearly written with the darkest of intents.
What do you think? Am I just overreacting or is this truly disturbing as a Christian?
