PRaise God it went just North of us, we only got the outer bands of 45-50 mph winds...it was a stormy night, but everything's fine :angel:

It's stilll pounding Florida, I just wanted to check in and let ya know we are fine here.

Vic's mom is down here, so please pray that she made it ok.

I have a lot of family in Fort Lauderdale and we were worried how they'd get hit, but it was far enough north to not cause much damage. They had winds, but not a lot of flooding rain.

Now we need to all keep our eyes on Ivan. :-?

I thought that it would would head towards New Orleans even when they said it would hit Florida. I don't want to wish it on anybody else and I don't, but I hope it misses Florida.

Unfortunately, it looks like yet another tropical depression may be forming out in the Atlantic/Carribean.

I was in Cozumel, Mexico when Hurricane Dolly hit a few years ago (actually it was our honeymoon trip) and it was only a category 1. Watching trees bend over sideways and hoping your building holds up OK for 2 days is not fun. I cannot imagine what a category 2 or 3 must be like, much less the 4s and 5s that hit occasionally. I know it's been a few weeks since the storms hit but I definitely pray for the well-being and financial situations a lot of folks down there are facing.
