Since I'm Also into this and View attachment 8585 View attachment 8586 the route pic thread also has some of this.I will post the the images, and stories.mine will chiefly be florida and whatever post I have been on .
The top two are former barracks and used as a clinic. The other is an old officer club and of possible I will go there fir some historical gathering of info.

It's always easy to identify old barracks. Glad the ones in the photo are still being used.
(The clouds in that photo are also stunning)

I only noticed that when I uploaded them.I took that while walking back from the field house.

The field house is mentioned

I wish there had been additional pictures at the linked site ........ showing from the air what the base used to look like over the years.

From arial views and topos ,aka military maps not much has changed

I haven't heard of those there at dodgertown.there were barracks there for officers but those look different. Perhaps an air corps detachment.or plain ignorance and these are navy barracks. The usaf was formed in 1947

Since the old barracks were moved to church ground and used until they were replaced, perhaps the old ones were a mere footnote in history.

The school was built and started at st Helens after 1950 and we're in use until the 70s.I remember part of them.the background edifice is in a photo I have posted.it's still there.I have photographed and posted st helens.it's likely they are from ww2 but we're never USA army but navy barracks.the dodgers used old navy barracks at dodgertown.there until 1975.I should find that easily.the locals called those as you could rent them prior to demolition. They were called the navy base apartments

Oh...I'm catching on now........... they were navy barracks. My mind was looping army. (Go figure!)

That is navy, barely visible to me as I'm on my smartphone is the wooden building shown.it's just south of the eastern edge.the top of the photo is oriented east.these were twins.so two of the wooden ones are possible.I can post the 51 topo and or 43 topo and both will be shown.I know where these were.it's on my piper route.I look for any navy relics.

What a history!

It would have been such a treat to observe the Dodgers in training during those years, as well as meet Branch Rickey. (Sad that all occurred before I was born)
My first job is there.I do have one pic of Holman stadium.I will post that in the route pic thread and take more whilst on the piper route.
