On My Honor

Do we have any scouts or former scouts in the house? Ah, I remember my days of being a Girl Scout just as if it were yesterday. Working on badges, couch potato campouts along with regular campouts, those were the days! I even remember our pledge; "On my honor, I will try, to serve God, and my country, to help people at all times and to live by the Girl Scout law!"

i tried to become a Boy Scout but my family life was a continual disaster because of my mom and I never, even, got the uniform. The pledge I still live by is the one I took when I entered the service. That and more importantly, The Code of Conduct that was resident in every soldiers wallet. I, once, could recite it verbatim but now, age has happened and all I remember are the principals and nobody, that i can remember debriefed me to relieve me of my pledge.
