I'm sure Westboro Baptist Church discussions are all over the place but I couldn't really find a thread like this..

As a Christian, if you had the chance to spend one minute of your time with Fred Phelps or any of his family members/followers to discuss Christian lifestyle, what would you say?

Would you quote scripture?

What do you think of their interpretation of the Word of God?

And I have to add is there anything about them you don't disagree with?

Here's a taste..

The text comments at the bottom can get pretty nasty so I apologize for that.

And this is pretty hilarious I think :)

I always thought they were some activist junkies posing as a church to give Christians a bad name . Is the WBC an actual church? :o

I'm pretty sure they're serious unfortunately.

It always amazes me how someone can proclaim "christian" then go around and do what they do.

It reminds me of that quote by Carman: " the biggest cause of atheism in the world today is Christians. Who confess Jesus with their lips and walk out the door and deny Him by their life style. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.

They are very serious about what they do.

One minute alone with him, what would I say? I'd tell him to pray because with what I've seen from him and his brainwashed sons and daughters, and grand children, (not judging, but) they really need to re-think their words and actions before pointing fingers at others.

I actually emailed them once, their god hates america dot com site, and they mocked me calling me "Alexander the not so great" because my first name is Alexander and that's what I signed the end of the email as. They went on to pick things out of my life that I wasn't even doing and bashing me on it. Then at the end they said and I quote "see you in h#ll".

I feel sorry for their souls. :praying Especially their grandchildren.

Unfortunately the only thing I believe that could have any effect is directly quoted scripture. Fred is probably a King James man.. One with a black cover to remind you of your sins :lol

Learn wisdom. And we are to be known by our love. We are what we promote, not what we hate.

I really like that.

I just saw "Fall from Grace". A documentary all about their church. I've also visited their website several times. After watching hours of their propaganda I am convinced it would not matter what you said. It is a cult and they can't be talked out of it just like you can't be talked out of your faith. And John, Carman ,the great philosopher, didn't say that. At least not originally. It was Brennan Manning. He's a good author.
