My husband and I went out to watch the Perseids meteor shower this morning from 12-1:30. It was amazing. It is just simply unfathomable what the hands of God can do. If you get the chance, you should be able to see it tomorrow morning. The best time to see it is after the moon sets, which is usually around 1:30. We went out shortly after midnight, and the show we saw was amazing also.

That's pretty cool. It's been cloudy around here the past few days so we might not get to see it. Caroline and I love stargazing.

Love star gazing too, but it was cloudy and so the telescrope and my eyes missed it. Dang....

Kudos HIM

Normally, Perseid time is time to have a camp-out on the yard and watch the show, but this year things have just been too different and we weren't able to do it. I was bummed because watching the shower from my yard, out here where there is no pollution, street lights or any other interference with the view is one of my all time favorite things to do.

However, we have a new kitten, Mr. Mittens. We brought him home day before yesterday and he was still too new to the house to feel comfortable. My kids brought him outside and he promptly ran under our 62'x12' porch and wouldn't come when called. He is still just so little that I couldn't just leave him out there overnight with all the night-hawks and owls, so I brought out a blanket, spread it out on the lawn and watched the stars fall as I tried to coax the kitty out. Wow, there wasn't a cloud in the sky and other than some brightness because of the moon, it was great. I finally did have to leave Mr. Mittens to his fate, but he managed the remaining few hours of the early morning under the deck with no problem and we were able to get him yesterday morning. I'm still just a bit tired from my missed night of sleep, but it was worth it. I truly love watching the meteor shower and I thought that I had missed it.
