*Note, this is not a debate topic, not a discussion of doctrine or differences between Christian denominations. PLEASE RESPECT THAT.

I leave for Rome this saturday! I'm going to be there for two weeks, the first week we're staying in an apartment only minutes away from the Holy See. I'm very excited, I've never seen Rome before. Hopefully I'll have my computer with me, so I'll update my experiences in the Vatican (I'm going to try and see if I can get in on the Wednesday Papal Audience, and certainly I'll be in St. Peter's Sqaure on Sunday for the noon Angelus).

To everyone, but my Catholic friends here specifically, I will light candles for you in every Church in the city!

Oremus pro Pontifice nostro Benedicto.

Ah Rome....... Well, in these latter days, this is one of the hot spots. Lots of eyes gonna be on this place. You are definately visiting a future history maker...

Candles? No thanks..

Be safe and hope your trip is good.

Hope you can bring a digital camera and post some pictures for us. Have a blessed and fun trip!

How wonderful!

I pray you have a safe and fruitful trip.... is this a vacation (if it's not too personal a question)?

I would ask that you light at least one for the Cause for Beatification and Canonization of Servant of God John Paul II.

Omnes cum Petro,

Very nice Dev. Will you be going anywhere else in Italy? If you travel south and find yourself in the Napoli region, bring back some pizza. :-D

Also say hi to my relatives. I'm sure I still have some ancestors in the province. ;-)

We're staying in Rome pretty much, but will likely take a day trip to Florence. So sorry Vic, no pizza for you.

My Godfather is taking me as a vactaion, which is fitting because a Godparent takes a vow at the baptism of their Godchild to help keep the child in the Catholic Christian faith. During my days away from Christianity and the Church, my Godfather was a constant voice calling me back to Mass. Growing up he would always tell me about his travels in Rome and in the Vatican, and now that I've become so zealous for the Catholic tradition, I think it seemed fitting to him that I should see Rome for myself. Thus it is also a pilgrimage. Last year he and my father met me in France and it was wandering through the Churches of France and Spain that awakened my questions about Christianity, perhaps Rome will help bring me to even more answers, and next year we're potentially going Jerusalem...

Ah Deve,

You have a wonderful and blessed time.

You could look up my many far-removed cousins in North Italy. My ancestral family were thrown out of Spain about the mid 1500's and they tried to settle in North Italy, but where persecuted, and they then moved into Northern France in the mid-1600's, and were further persecuted. After the French Revolution they moved into Prussia. Napolian set them free in France and gave them full citizen rights, the same in North Italy. But, they were threatened if they didn't convert to Catholicism they would killed. My ancestral family are descendants from the Levites.

I am a believer of our Lord Jesus Christ, and I pray that our Lord Jesus Christ will minister to you and speak to your heart, your spiritual mind, through the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Today, religion is full of much mysticism and heresies, and I pray the HE will open your mind and give you a fresh revelation of the truth of His Word.

No candles please, because they have no meaning in my life.

Be blessed in Jesus' Name.
