I've been depressed for ages now, and I spend most of my time hoping to die... I have no purpose, I'm not important to anyone. I feel no motivation to wake up in the mornings. If my job weren't incredibly flexible about the hours I work, I would have been fired a long time ago for all the mornings I just didn't feel like going. I don't know my purpose from God, I pray about it all the time but I'm beginning to feel it will never come, and I don't even have any worldly goals to focus on. I'm just a waste of space. No friends to talk to about this. My parents ignores me if I bring it up.

It just feels like there is no point in being here. There are times I feel okay, but I am never happy, and for each second of okay there is a day of depression. I know it is not right to think this, and suicide "is not the answer" blah blah, but with the way my life is I might as well be buried already.

Please pray for me :help

Hi Natalie, Have you read the posts from your last thread about this same subject?

http://www.christianforums.net/showthread.php?t=51251&highlight=

I will say another prayer for you but you need to take some of the advise already offered by others. Go meet with Jesus, seek Him with all your heart. Learn about Him and how He will lead you out of your prison. He has a plan for your life. :)

Hi Natalie. I tell you what: why not read Philippians chapter 2. You'll read there of the lengths that the Lord Jesus went to save sinners like you and me. Then ask yourself the question: isn't telling others about love like his, worth living for?

God bless His Word to you.

Dear Natalie, we are all not without problems, and they seem especially designed to develope out spiritual lives. 1 Peter 4:12 says it this way: "Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you."

God does have the perfect plan for you to be in His perfect will, and He will indeed lead you into those paths of righteousness. Romans 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." This includes all in Christ; we are called.

You mention in another post of your lack of friends, and that can be the result of natural circumstance also; not necessarily what you do or not do. There is a way to overcome the feeling somewhat by developing an outreach to others; are there those in need of assistance such as the elderly you can help? If you remember the story of Elijah in 1 Kings 19:14, And he said, . . . I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away. We can get very down.

Have you seen a doctor for a medical checkup; you may in need of certain additions to your diet, etc. Yo may even need a medication to control an overactive gland or something. It is hard to feel hopeless, and you should not have to depend upon good events to have faith that everything is right. Hebrews 11:1 tells us that "faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen." Natalie, please know that God is for you, with you, and loves you so much He gave us everything He had when He gave His Son Jesus for us; you are loved and He will not fail you.

Dear Father, You hear the request of this dear saint, You know the work You are doing in her life, and You know the outcome of Your work in her before You began. Please restore the joy of Your salvation to her, and bring the peace that passes understanding to her life that will glorify You, and make her secure in Your love. I ask this Father in Jesus' name. Amen.

I know it's been over 10 years since you've made this post but I wanted to reply because I've been in the same boat as you for the past 10 years ever since I was around 18 years old. It's crazy reading your post, it sounds like something I would have written long ago. Truly I hope you are OK and doing well. God bless.

So JJ12peace if we answer it is really you we are talking to.

Welcome aboard.
Romans 14:7 kjv
7. For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
8. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
9. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

Which this scripture is ultimately (we do not not have to be alone). Christ died that we might have life.

Read some of the advice others gave years ago. Perhaps some others will come aboard.

Hey All,
Natalie, I want to reach out through the screen and give you a big old bear hug. You gotta find your joy girl. Once you find it, your whole life will change.
You are deep in the valley (see Psalms 23:4), and despair is taunting you, saying "You're no good," or "nobody loves you."( just an example) Most people overlook this, but David tells us how to get out of the valley. He says, "Yea though I walk 'through' the valley . . ." The way through the valley is to keep walking. Start taking steps now. Let me help you start.
First, know that God loves you. Set that thought firmly in your mind. No matter how bad life gets, God loves you. He sent His Son to save you from your sin. That's how much! That is how much you are worth to God. And that never changes.
Second, knowing this, you can love yourself. Of course not in some vane arrogant way; rather you can love yourself because you know God loves you.
Third, once you love yourself, others will be drawn to you. Because they will see the outward expression of your inner joy. That type of joy is magnetic. People will be drawn to it.
So how do we get there?
I have an assignment for you Natalie. (Anybody else that wants to can try this also.) You will need your Bible, a pen, and a notebook. Read through the book of Psalms. Try to read chapter a day. Some are short. Some are long. Chapter 119 may take you a week. But try. Every time you come across a phrase that says "the Lord is . . . " or "the Lord will . . ." or "the Lord shall . . ." (you get my point) stop and write the phrase in your notebook. For example look at Psalms 1:6:

Psalms 1:6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

You would write "the Lord knows the way of the righteous" (you could go King James like I did and put "the Lord knoweth.") Let's try another Psalms 3:3:

Psalms 3:3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

There is a double here. You would write:
"The Lord is a shield for me."
"He is the lifter of my head."

Hopefully, you understand what I am showing you. Do this all the way through Psalms and you will have a so much greater understanding of who God is, and what He can do. When you finish at Psalms 150, read all of your notes. That is who God is and what he does. Knowing this will change your life.

Stay on the straight and narrow, keep your head up, put on the full armor, and keep walking. (If I need to explain any of those actions Natalie, let me know.)

Finally, let's pray: Father, we come before you today with praise and thanksgiving for all of your blessings in our lives. (Even the ones we are too blind to see.) We ask you to reveal yourself to Natalie in such a way that she will always be assured of your love for her. Let her love herself. Give her the joy of her salvation. We thank you and praise you in the name of your Son Jesus; amen.
Hang in there kiddo. Keep walking everybody. May God bless,
Taz
P.S. Do you want some cool Bible trivia? Does anyone know the exact center (using chapters) of the Bible?
Psalms 118
It is boardered by the shortest chapter 117, and the longest chapter 119. (I thought it was cool.)

Hey All,
I did it again. Psalms 3:3 is actually a triple:

The Lord is a shield for me."
"He is the lifter of my head."
And what I missed: '. . . 'He is my glory" . . "
Sorry for the miss. Keep walking everybody.
May God bless,
Taz
